Busy brunch time. Atmosphere is good. Lots of seating. Staff a bit overwhelmed and inconsistent. Food was ok not spectacular.

The food is good here, but its not good enough to offset the service. The service is slow and I felt like the servers did not care about us at all. Lots of empty tables, but we had to wait 5-10 minutes at the door (while so many people came in they had to wait out of the door) while the servers texted and chatted in the back. That theme was the same throughout our meal. They weren't friendly at all, just seemed annoyed at us. We won't be coming back.

We actually went to another highly-reviewed breakfast place but the parking was nil so we spotted this location in Google's recommendations and so glad we came for breakfast! On-street parking was easy to find. It was definitely busy which is always a good sign. We came for brunch this past Sunday. There was no wait to sit outside and enjoy the nice weather while eating. My son had a breakfast burrito, my littlest had the Belgian waffles with strawberries and whipped cream, and my husband and I tried the Florentine Beni and Crab Cakes Beni. I also ordered the granola parfait, which didn't come at first. But was delicious when I did eventually get it. We did have to request water for our table but I understand they were pretty busy. Maybe making that the initial part of the wait staff's initial greeting/process would probably go a long way in keeping guests occupied while they wait for food and drinks. All in all, the food was delicious, the wait times for food and drinks were as expected, the atmosphere was laid-back and family-oriented, and the prices were very reasonable. We would definitely return and recommend for brunch with the family!

So impressed by delicious food, friendly and attentive staff and lovely decor. I had the BEAC sandwich and shared the oatmeal pancakes with my daughter. Both were scrumptious. Best breakfast I’ve had in ages.

Whatever you do whether you order online or come in person the wait to recieve your food after order at this location is absolutely ridiculous. It wasn’t like this few years ago. Within the last year or so it’s become ridiculous.

At this point I’ll be going to the other location. Even a salad for take out has taken 40+ mins today.

A friend and I went to Cafe Madison for brunch on 9/13/25. We ordered drinks and meals. I ordered the seasonal special of Shrimp and Grits. About halfway through my meal I felt something in my mouth, which I assumed at first might be a part of an eggshell. When I pulled it out it was 3 rusty staples. My friend and I both were kind of in shock at first. We called the server over, explained what I found, and handed the meal and the staples over to him. He brought it to the back. Upon returning, he said he spoke to the “GM” and he would take the shrimp and grits off the bill and one of my two drinks. He then kept repeating to me that it wasn’t him who did it - like this incident was going to affect his overall tip - not really concerned that I just found rusty staples in my food. I was pretty annoyed at this point and the other patrons who were seated to our right and left were also shocked by the incident. My friend and I paid and left. Honestly the whole thing rubbed me the wrong way. I was a chef for 10 years and I can tell you that not once in those 10 years was metal ever found in any of my dishes. This isn’t one of those “well things happen sometimes”; this could have been a much more serious issue if I had swallowed them. It just speaks to an overall lack of cleanliness and attention to detail and just laziness overall. I wouldn’t recommend this establishment to anyone. If I could give less then a 1 star rating, I would and I would advise anyone who does find themselves eating there to inspect their food thoroughly.

I would highly recommend Café Madison to anyone and encourage them to try the Crème Brûlée French toast if they enjoy that type of food. More detailed breakdown of review below.

Staff: D gave a fantastic recommendation for the Crème Brûlée French Toast! I had a craving for French Toast and heard good things about Café Madison so I decided to stop. She was friendly and asked for my food preference before giving a recommendation and seating me. Jada was my server and was very friendly as well.

Food: The french toast had a delicious layer of custard and a caramelized sugar top. The whipped cream on the side wasn't homemade but was still very good and paired well with the strawberry slices. The butter side was made in house and added a subtle sweetness to an already rich dish but was not overpowering. I'm also glad there was no powdered sugar as I think that would have made the dish too sweet, although that's more of a preference.

I also tried a Matcha Iced Coffee which was refreshing and not overly sweet. I requested a water as well to drink with the meal so I could enjoy the iced matcha more slowly.

Atmosphere & Parking: I parked out front and paid for parking. I came for breakfast and there wasn't any difficulty finding a spot in the morning, but I could see busier times making parking close a challenge. I sat inside and the atmosphere was nice and fairly quiet. It was an overall enjoyable experience and I'm looking forward to trying another dish here soon!

Much larger space inside than it looks outside. Beautiful atmosphere. Food & drinks were very good. We had a large party, but it took a long time to even get water and drinks. They need more servers. Once we were able to place our food order, it came out pretty quickly
