Found their food truck outside golden harvest farm / market in Valatie and what a pleasant surprise ! Great food and passionate owner, what more could you ask for a BBQ place! We tried all the meats and they're amazing. The only piece they didn't have is sliced brisket.Update:They will not be reopening their store and the only location to find this food truck business is on the weekends next to the golden harvest farm in Valatie. They finally did have the sliced brisket and WOW they're amazing !

A BBQ treasure about to be lost. Don't let this small storefront fool you because the flavor here is huge. The best BBQ in the Capital region, very reasonably priced. The preparation on the brisket is tops-I love the rub they use. Cornbread is on point, not too dry, nor too sweet. Baked beans, collards are out of this world delish. Friendly staff! BBQ done right. I hear the building is being sold and this treasure will be lost in the next few months. Get there while you can.

Tucked away on Ontario Street in Albany sits a place I had never heard of called the Capital Q Smokehouse! After a quick search on Yelp for BBQ I found the Capital Q about 7 minutes away with a 4 star rating so I decided to give it a try. From the moment I opened the door I was greeted with the warm smell of that sweet southern style of cooking. The interior is very interesting with various southern bbq esq. decor assembled on the counters and walls. The gentleman working the counter was very polite and seemed happy to serve us. The menu is broken up into large orders, single plates, and sides which made it easy to order as a firs timer. I ordered the "Okie Pig" from under the "Plates" section of the menu. This consisted of a delicious pulled pork with a KC style sauce, cornbread, coleslaw, and a choice of a side to which I picked what ended up being the best baked beans I've ever had. When I ordered them I imagined I'd be getting the generic flavored beans you always get; NOPE! These beans were the perfect blend of spices, onions, brisket, and beans and I tell you what; best beans I've ever had, hands down. 5 stars for this place easy!

I'm originally from Jersey. I found myself up here for the 2019 NYSNA convention and stopped by this place before heading home. So glad that I did! This is authentic smokehouse food. You can taste the love and care that goes into the meat. And the amazing dry rub and sauces. Delicious. I honestly would come to Albany just for this. I'd personally suggest the brisket

My friend and I stopped in this place on the way home from a road trip, and I almost want to drive back to Albany to go again, it's THAT good. The burnt ends (brisket) were exquisite and the sauces are to die for. The green bean casserole and cornbread take me back to memories of my grandmother's house during my childhood years in Texas! They actually let me in the back to see the smokers and the smell made me want to eat even more. This place is amazing, you should go.
