I had the oxtails and this was like eating tough steak. It was dry and the rice and peas were mushed together. Idk if it was old or what but it was a no for me. My stomach was bubbling like 20mi s after eating it.. never again. The location was clean and the lady was nice but I will never purchase there again and I live up the street and just didn’t feel like cooking.

Food was literally disgusting with no flavor. I order the oxtails, cabbage, Mac and cheese, and rice and peas and absolutely nothing had seasoning or flavor. The oxtails were nothing but fat, no meat whatsoever. And the bits that I had to pick out with my nails were NOT seasoned whatsoever. Don’t waste your money or time.

My sister’s experience at Dainty's Jamaican Kitchen restaurant today she ordered the curry goat with white rice. This was her second time ordering from this restaurant. Unfortunately, the experience was quite disappointing. First, the customer service was horrible. She received a dish that was mostly bones with very little meat, and the white rice was hard. When she called the restaurant to express her dissatisfaction, the person she spoke with rudely hung up the phone. This is the second time she had a negative experience at Dainty’s Jamaican Kitchen and she won't be returning.

I stopped in yesterday after attending the Tulip Fest. I just happened upon Dainty’s as I was driving to a different restaurant and I figured, “What the heck, I’ll give it a try.” Summary - It was just ‘Okay’.My friend and I split a large Jerk Chicken with cabbage and rice & peas. Nothing was noteworthy for being bad but nothing was outstanding either, thus the mediocre review. I compare all Jamaican restaurants to a place in Worcester, MA called Caribbean Flaavor. (Yes, that’s the correct spelling.) Dainty’s did not measure up in any category. The chicken was not as tasty and the texture was lacking. The cabbage did not have the succulent sweetness of some I’ve had. And the rice and peas lacked much flavor. I had a small container of jerk sauce on the side to apply as I desired. It was nondescript and explained why the flavor of the chicken did not measure up. The woman at the counter was a bit off putting. She was not friendly or accommodating. Is this the owner? It was almost as if we were an imposition. No reason to return so she won’t need to worry about us darkening her doorstep again.

Parking: Usually spots on Quail or side streets.

Man of man. As a Caribbean woman I can honestly say the food was trash. Just look as the Mac and cheese. Krafts Mac and cheese taste better than this garbage. The rice and the oxtail didn’t taste authentic at all. For the price they charge they are totally a rip off. Don’t go their.

NewI’ll let you render your own opinion, new management maybe?Old“Spoiler Alert.! Hands-down the BEST Caribbean food that I’ve had in Albany. If you’re eating at any other spot and Albany you’re missing out, don’t shoot the messenger.”

Service was Bad, Portions were small, Prices were Large as well as the attitude of the woman taking my order. I ordered 2 small platters($35); 1 Jerk chicken in a tiny container filled with rice , a tablespoon of cabbage 1/2 of a chicken leg. Oxtails were tender and flavorful container also filled with rice. The lady acted as if it was a crime that I asked for gravy on the rice with the chicken. Needless to say I won’t be going back But if you are in the mood for decent Oxtails and bad service, this is your place

This Place is way over priced! I paid $23 a piece for 2 plates with oxtails and rice only to get 3 small bones with little to no flavor at all. It taste as if it was a burned black beans sauce. The curry chicken was a small for $13 it too was a very small portion. The chicken was a bit pink and very bland not much curry flavor or any other flavors. For this to be Jamaican I was expecting something very flavorful but yet I was very disappointed! Not worth the money! I probably will not dine here again.

The owner is amazing, and very pleasant. I’ve had both her oxtail and her curry goat and they are both equally delicious. The spiciness and the sweetness combined is just right. I will highly recommend.

Went to get some curry goat. Cashier had an attitude when inquiring about meal. Food presentation in the medium plate was messy. Curry goat tastes as if it wasn’t properly done and it was filled with oil. Rice needed to be cooked a bit more.
