First timer ... wasn't expecting a family style steak restaurant. Everything seemed rushed and energetic instead of relaxed. Prompt service; mis-heard my request for a specific Chardonnay and received house wine (poor and warm). Caesar salad was large and a bit too garlicky. Filet with portobello mushrooms was long on gravy and short on mushrooms. 1 small filet was well done and tough; the other was medium rare as ordered. Not much flavor, but ok. Side pasta was fine.
I am a regular customer at this Delmonico's and have eaten in all of them including Orlando at one point or another. Normally my experiences have been great. Good food. Good service. On this visit I was truly disappointed. We arrived at the restaurant right after opening. Staffing appeared OK. The food was ok. Not great as always, but I cannot look past the level of service. The menu offers a wide variety of options, catering to different tastes. The food was excellent, and the wait staff provided exceptional service, making for a delightful dining experience.
