I’ve been looking forward to checking out the restaurant, Dove & Deer, since I first encountered their food when their chef was highlighted at the annual Summer Gala fundraiser here in Hudson last year. Their chef served an incredible amuse-bouche with gooseberries and the chef who was there sharing the amuse-bouches was wonderfully charming and the food was incredible!
I was so impressed that I’ve been following their social media since then and have been looking forward to visiting the restaurant all the while!
I was recently in the area and while I unfortunately wasn’t able to visit the restaurant in person- I was able to order through Door Dash and the meal was incredible!
We ordered an assortment of things to share and were thrilled with everything!
-Spicy Kale Caesar with shredded kale, croutons, and shaved parmesan!
-Truffle Parm Fries with scallions and truffle aioli!
-Mini Wagyu Beef Hotdogs made with wagyu beef, served in buttery toasted buns, and topped with mustard, ketchup, and relish!
-Hot Lobster Dip made with lobster claw and knuckle meat, gruyere, gouda, fontina, spinach, scallion, and crispy wontons!
It is often very difficult for a restaurant to adjust their menu to translate to takeout; and for them to do so where every single dish was not only delicious but also mostly with a great presentation, says a great deal about their attention to detail.
This is a restaurant I look forward to dining at again many more times over the years!

I recently dined at Dove + Deer in Albany, NY, and had an outstanding experience. The ahi tuna appetizer was incredibly fresh and flavorful, perfectly balanced with its accompaniments. For the main course, the steak dinner was cooked to perfection—tender, juicy, and full of rich flavor. The cozy atmosphere and attentive service made the evening even better. I highly recommend Dove + Deer for a top-notch dining experience in Albany!

My friend and I gathered here before a show at the Egg that is in close proximity. We were grateful to enjoy a delicious soup that was their special on a cold winter day. It had kale, sausage , with little round pasta in a very flavorful broth . Nourishing and comforting .

Ordered a take away order of the burger with truffle fries. 🤤 10/10 seasoned perfectly! That sesame bun is a nice touch! The fries are perfect even without the sauce!

Chicken Francaise did not impress. The dish could be elevated by adding fresh shredded parmesan, cherry tomatoes, etc. The atmosphere of the place is pleasant. Service seemed a bit slow but acceptable. Overall price-to-quality ratio can be improved.
We had lunch here on a weekday, no crowd. Nice waitress, quick service. I had the crispy chicken sandwich and it was delicious. There were a lot of fries and they were VERY good!

Traveling yesterday from out of town and googled extensively where to eat. So glad we chose this place for dinner. The service was so friendly and attentive. Everything we ordered from the menu was so flavorful and delicious. The steak was cooked perfectly. Snapper and beet pasta were also incredible. Still thinking about all the flavors. The place could easily be pretentious, but it is not. You can sit down for a cozy dinner, then hang at the bar. Everything felt relaxed and welcoming. Will definitely be back next time I’m in town!

Beautiful and welcoming atmosphere just blocks from the capital. Have gone several times to both dinner and brunch. Food is always impressive and delicious. Service always makes me feel like part of the family. Maxwell is definitely your favorite bartender’s favorite bartender. He is always making sure the customer is having an exquisite experience. Can’t wait to come back.
