I walked from the Hyatt Albany Hotel to eat a quiet dinner alone. I like good, simple food and ordering that here was challenging . I wanted a simple salad, but the salad on the menu was had pecans. I asked to substitute the pecans for almonds, walnuts, or pistachios --they only had pine nuts. The pistachios were spicy. I ordered the salad with pine nuts. It was good. I also ordered oysters (delicious). I wanted to order fried calamari, but spicy (so that was a no). I also thought of ordering a burger, but it's 10 oz. and for every addition (e.g., cheese, avocado, etc.,) add $2 - $3. For dessert, the waitress recommended the chocolate with cherries creme brulee (not great). The restaurant tries too hard to make the menu edgy and sophisticated. Clean, simple, food is the best!

We enjoyed the atmosphere and the selection. However the menu online was slightly different than that in the restaurant as I was interested in trying a couple options that were not available upon arrival. That being said the selection was varied and the meals were above expectations. The dessert selection was decadent. A very solid choice for all.

Been a few times now and have had the same experience each time. I have been a little let down given this is attached to Yono's, which I think is the best restaurant in Albany. The setting is nice; the big windows are great and the lighting is good. Tables are spaced too close together, its been a little awkward each time. The service is fine, but a little disappointing when you consider how good it is at Yonos. Struggles during peak times which is understandable but this isnt a cheap meal. The food is a mixed bag. The ideas on the menu are interesting and some of the food has been great, but I think its overpriced for the execution (I don't doubt the ingredients are quality). Like the service, the execution has been a surprise to me given the quality at Yono's. I was served a raw burger that was not re-fired and was instead just heated up, with soggy fries to boot.To me, a great place to sit at the bar with a drink and an appetizer. But if you want the real dining experience just pony up and book in Yono's

Disregard the info on the open table as there's no happy hour but that isn't a big deal as the food and cocktails were delicious. Tables were a bit close together but overall highly recommend. Also they have a coat check which is an awesome feature.

Had the oysters as a starter, which were EXCELLENT; very clean accompanied by an excellent shallot vinegar. My girlfriend had the short ribs, cleaned her plate. I had the mussels - large portion but about a tenth of them hadn't opened. Also would have preferred a couple big crusty pieces of bread to soak up the broth instead of the fried wonton (ew).

The is the bar that's connected to Yono's. They have a limited menu but the food that they do serve is good. They have one of the best Old Fashions that I've ever had. It's made with corn whiskey. With that said, the price you pay for food and drink is a bit too high for the quality that you receive.

DP Brasserie is attached to the Hampton Suites of downtown Albany. We were staying at the Hall on a very rainy Friday night so the attached restaurant was probably our best bet. The high ceilings and noisy ambiance gave it a nice brasserie vibe. The prices here are what you would expect for a restaurant attached to a Hotel in the downtown area - a bit pricey. So we opted for the fat, eight ounce hamburgers. I must add that the waiter with a wonderful conversationalist who is very enthusiastic about working there and he made this a fun experience for us. The hamburgers were absolutely delicious and might have been the best we've had in a long time. We ended our quick meal with lemon ices. We are big fans of Italian ices, and this was exquisite. My guess is that a restaurant that pays attention to the quality of a simple hamburger will offer other great dishes. I should point out that this is a completely separate establishment with its own high quality standards.

Oysters were good. Discovered Island Creek Oysters from Duxbury, MA.

What happened to this place? DP’s used to be the one restaurant we knew we would get a top quality meal. Things have changed. Let’s start out with ordering dinner. Why do I have to order my appetizer and entree at the same time, never have I ever heard of this. The appetizer, Calamari, we have had it from here many times. Now it’s a no taste small portion dish where they toss a few non taste peppers into it and call it good.Entree my wife ordered the Indonesian noodles vegetarian style, this was a dish she had had several times and the first thing she said was there is no taste to it, just cabbage with some noodles in a broth. My entree was the burger with fry’s. Bun was great, nice toast on it. Burger had no flavor, it was cooked to order. I asked for ketchup for the fry’s and it must have been locked up as it took quite sometime to be delivered back to the table. I will say the fry’s were good.Overall very disappointing for the price we paid.Oh and maybe the wait staff shouldn’t come to the table and say you look stuffed do you want to see the desert menu. It’s not a place we will come back to again.

I went here for a formal dinner for two and was highly disappointed! To begin, the menu that is presented online isn’t the same menu they use for formal dining. We weren’t notified of this even though we had a conversation on the phone when making reservations! The food was abysmal, especially considering the price of it! Almost as if they were trying too hard and ruined the whole meal! Definitely a waste!Even with all that, we still left a tip (half the price of my food, which is more than they really should’ve gotten) just for the service! The waiter then rudely followed us to the door to argue about the tip.
