Just went for my birthday lunch and was hugely disappointed by the food. Unseasoned, I had one bite of the beef and it was not good at all. Chicken quesadilla was okay but just average. Salsa and Queso were the only good things. Waitress was nice but didn't check on us at all for drinks or extra salsa- also didn't ask us how the food was. Honestly if anyone wants to go to a Mexican restaurant I would just take a drive to El Mexicano in Saratoga it is so much better but I wanted to try something new for my Bday. Music was also really loud where we were sat.

El Patron is truly a beautiful place. I love the vibrant paintings and the overall atmosphere of the restaurant; it really creates a unique and inviting experience. While I’m personally not the biggest fan of the food, I must say that the service more than makes up for it. It’s definitely an experience worth having.
I admit I may be a bit biased because I prefer authentic Mexican cuisine. However, my partner, who isn’t a huge fan of Mexican food or the Americanized versions, genuinely enjoys what El Patron offers. As they say, "different tastes make the world go round!" It’s great to see how a place can cater to varying preferences and still create a memorable experience for everyone.

Two delivery dinners. Soup was excellent. Rice and beans very good. Never wrote anything neg on social media prior. Two entrees. Pork and chicken. We spit out both meats because it was overcooked grizzle. Tossed both entrees away. Repeat customers who not be repeating. Disappointed.
The food was absolutely amazing. Best I have had in the capital district. We will be back here again and again.

We are visiting from out of state and decided to try this place because it has over a four star rating. We were extremely disappointed in the food and then further with the automatic tip. The ground beef in the tacos had ZERO seasoning. The beans look canned. The refried beans and rice were okay at best. The cheese in the enchilada wasn't tasty. When we received the bill we saw the automatic tip. I asked the server if I had missed something on the menu regarding the tip and she pointed to another table and turned around the condiment caddy to show us where it is "posted." The caddy on our table didn't say anything. It is frustrating when restaurants have such policies because the server no longer has to provide customer service. We had to ask for our salsa be refilled. Our drinks were never refilled. Needless to say, we would never recommend this restaurant to anyone!
