Solid and reliable! Always good food and great portions- easily accommodated our large party and super attentive staff.
delicious home cooked food served with a smile. This popular family-owned restaurant has been the heart of the neighborhood for over 50 years.
Awful staff

Food was good. Affordable price. And by affordable, it was like 40 bucks for two people. Hard to come by these days.

Food was alright. Bread was bit soft and too easy to tear through though, would have liked normal buns for my burger.
Another good review for one of my favorite pizza places. Crispy and chewy in the right places, decent toppings and price, good sauce with garlic. I usually get the pepperoni and sausage, though sometimes a meat lovers and on occasion an EBA. Always good!
Really great food with very friendly staff, I was only here for a year, but some of the staff actually started memorizing what I ordered(since I ordered the same thing EVERYTIME.) Which was really sweet of them and saved me alot of time. Whenever I did change or tweak something about my order, they were very polite and understanding.

Last night I called in a simple order for pickup. A burger, with an upgrade to onion rings, a small white pizza with broccoli and tomatoes and a fettuccine Alfredo with Russian dressing for the salad. What I got was a very undercooked red pizza, a full side order of onion rings for 4x more$ and no salad dressing. Very disappointing, particularly as my wife can't eat tomatoe sauce. Really ruined what should have been a nice meal. Bacon cheeseburger was excellent though, to give the devil his due.
third time, arrived after others and they made sure we felt shunned! again, NO table added, felt unwelcome, no one seemed to care or want to work at problem. never going again!!!!!!!!!!!
We made a reservation for The Fountain Restaurant on Fri 1/13/23 for 5:30pm.This place is always busy. And has been a neighborhood go to for many years. The Romano family has won their customers' loyalty with great service & consistently good pizza. We were early and there were two seats open at the bar. So the bartender Tony moved our reservation to there. The bar works nicely for us here. Thanks Tony. We ordered a wine ($7) & a local craft beer,Jack's Abbey on draft ($9) while we looked over the menu. The Fountain makes great pizza, but tonight just wasn't a pizza night for us. My bride had a small Caesar salad w/ chicken ($10) right size for her. The large is not an exaggeration. I had the caprese sandwich-Fresh Mozzarella, Tomato, Basil, EVOO & Balsamic Glaze on Ciabatta bread ($11) Note: you can add chicken breast or eggplant for $4. more. Very good sandwich. In my opinion, this sandwich would be even better w/ some pesto spread on the ciabatta. Still a very good dining experience. Hours: Tues-Thurs 11:30AM-10:30PM (Kitchen Closes) Fri-Sat 11:30AM-11PM (Kitchen Closes) Sunday 12:00PM-10PM (Kitchen Closes) Closed Monday Street parking is at a premium but there is public parking behind the restaurant. Thanks again to Tony & all for another great visit. Nick Parisi & Liz Farrell, Albany, NY

I am deathly allergic to cheese and I realized before my order was ready that I accidentally selected cheddar cheese. I asked the employee if she could change my order quickly and I explained that I am allergic to cheese. She told me with a huge attitude that they are very busy even tho the cooks were standing there doing nothing and that I should “go away “. Then when I moved around to the cashier to try to place a new order she ignored me for about 15 minutes even when I asked her if I could place a new order. Ive had multiple experiences with the fountain grille workers being rude for no reason.
We've been coming here for ages but this time we were quite disappointed. The service was so-so, my roast beef club had toast that was so overdone it was on the brink of burned. The bacon in the sandwich was fatty and the entire sandwich was dry. Roast beef was medium even though server said it was rare. Server never re-filled drinks, AND the place was like a day care center today! 2 tables of kids, all non-stop loud and shouting. One kid threw a tantrum on the floor, screaming her head off. Mother did nothing but sit there and dawdle. I must say those people sure cleared the place out. Why bring small kids to a bar in the first place????? We would have left if we hadn't already ordered. Not a pleasant meal. I know that is not re restaurant's fault. My partner ordered the ital sub and it was pretty good. Fries were good, too. Will think twice about returning which is too bad......we always headed to the Fountain when in Albany.
I have visited the Fountain Almost every week. The Atmosphere is Terrific Friendly service great All food is so good Italian lasagna, meat balls Pizzas are great delicious It’s the Best the owners Ginger & her husband are always present checking With folks at their tables All are welcome as an Important guest ? Pauline Harter God less you All Amen ?
As we walked in, we were a party of four, and no one paid any attention to us. Finally, an older gentleman, who I assumed was the owner told us we could sit anywhere. After we sat down for a few minutes, and no waitresses came over, I went and grabbed four menus from the hostess table. Finally, a waitress came over. We ordered pizza, which was decent. The waitress came over once, and never refilled our drinks. Service wasn’t that great and we didn’t feel especially welcome. It’s a shame because I’ve heard great things about the restaurant.
