Been a favorite of ours for over a decade. They beat the competition, by far. I've eaten here at least a hundred times, never been disappointed.

We have eaten at least twice a month for years. So it's very surprising how awful the service to order food has gotten. Many times we get a person who speaks such little English he can not understand anything we say. The last time we called to order we were told to text our order to a number and then the food never came. This person may be new. Such a shame because we love this food but we may not be able to eat here anymore. My advice is don't order delivery or pick up- just go in to eat

We had an awful experience here. It was Saturday and we wanted to use a Groupon. The waiter kept insisting that we do the buffet (Groupon was not for the buffet). Although we were the only people in the place, he kept going on about the Buffet. The Groupon had no stipulations besides not using it on the buffet and lunch specials. He told us if we wanted to use the Groupon we would have to spend 35 but if we came back any other day we can spend 20. Needless to say we left.

The food is great but the service is terrible. The staff is very neglectful and in the winter they do not turn on the heat so the restaurant is freezing. I would not recommend dining there. It is better to order for pick up or delivery. Delivery is reliable and efficient but sometimes they give you old rice.

Found a deal on Groupon and decided to make this our first stop on our weekend trip to Albany. Both of us were craving Indian food, we hadn't had it in a while. Noticed there was a dinner buffet from 5-9pm at $9.95 pp, but we didn't partake as it wasn't part of our Groupon deal. They looked like they had a nice variety of food, appetizer and dessert. So, we ordered Ala carte. I got the Masala tea, and we shared a chicken tikka masala, an order of cheese Naan, and one of the appetizer samplers (can't remember what it was called now! But it had the papadum and samosas in it...) For dessert, I had the ras malai. Everything was flavorful and tasted good, not greasg tasting, the meat was tender, and the tea was hot and creamy. All that for about $30, a pretty good deal, considering we are used to NYC prices! And we both left with very full bellies. We haven't been to the other Indian restaurants around the area so I can't compare, but should we find ourselves craving Indian food while here in Albany, we'd definitely return!

I come from India, I can assure you that this not close what true Indian food is like. The tandoori chicken was not really tandoori and there were many more flaws. Overall not the best place to eat.

The ownership changed, and so did the quality. Expect Bollywood bikinis blaring, cheap quality food, and a sub standard experience. Go to sitar or karavali instead.

Stopped in to this restaurant on our way from Lake George to NYC - very reasonable prices and excellent food, especially the vegetarian options. I had the saag, chickpea salad, fresh naan & cabbage. All were made with finesse - highly recommended.

The food wasn't bad, and the waiter was very helpful when our friends were looking for parking, and deciding what to eat. We purchased a Yelp deal for this restaurant before going, but unfortunately, they wouldn't honor the coupon when it was time to check out. That was pretty disappointing, since we went to the restaurant in no small part because of the availability of the deal. I had to get a refund from yelp when I returned back home, and pay higher prices than I had anticipated. I would have been happy to have reviewed them higher otherwise.

Delicious! Better than Jewel of India and Lazeez. Especially recommend the paneer karahi!

had been years ago and remembered it was pretty good, so when my friend suggested indian last night I headed here. BIG MISTAKE! 1) at barely 7 p.m. the buffet was decimated and nothing looked like it had been refreshed 2) there were 4 tables full when we got there. We had to wait for menus. The tea I ordered took 30 minutes to arrive. My friend requested a cup of hot water, and was brought a plastic water glass with tepid water. She repeated her request, specifying "like you'd bring for tea" and 20 minutes later (AFTER my tea finally came) she got ANOTHER plastic drinking glass, this time with boiling water. 3) the waiter brought out my appetizer, brought plates and napkins to the table and then walked away and started a conversation with another table about the coupon they wanted to use, leaving us with NO SILVERWARE. When I finally got silverware from one of the kitchen staff, it was dirty. 4) having brought me my appetizer (which was spicy), he then neglected to refill our water glasses until I got up AGAIN and hunted him down and asked for more water. 5) the menu is incomprehensible - describing some things as "lightly spiced" and others as "mildly spiced" but when asked, the waiter indicated they were the same level of spice. 6) my friend ordered the vegetable rice. The waiter told her it came with some sort of vegetable, which we didn't understand. He described it as "long and green". My friend replied "scallion?" and he said "yes, like that." When the rice came out it was regular white basmati rice with frozen vegetable mix added in - corn, diced carrots, and green beans (apparently, that was the long green vegetable he meant). As for the quality of the food, it's mediocre. The samosa chat I had was flavorful enough, and gave some promise that the rest of the meal would be good, but the samosa was barely crispy under all the toppings. It should be. It should give contrast against the potatoes, chick peas and sauce. The paratha was okay, but the naan was dry and overcooked. My malai kofta was bland, and the serving was smaller than I have gotten in most other restaurants (4 dumplings as opposed to 6). I mentioned the vegetable rice already. My friend also ordered the Barrah kebab, described as "juicy pieces of lamb". What came out seemed to be the Sheek kebab, minced lamb pieces, and it was very dry. I was very disappointed, obviously. All I can say is if this is the best indian in Albany, leave town!

Hmm....Pretty great Indian food here. I'd even say it stands out among its peers.....and there are a lot of those nearby. The chicken-tikka masala was excellent, very creamy and delicious especially with that aloo naan dipped in it. Oh yehh. Small interior that keeps bollywood blastin in the background, the waiter was attentive, Yelp hooked it up with a 20 for 40. Pretty nice experience and the food was delicious....I'll be back.

Good food. But seems like some of the food was from frozen vegetables instead of fresh.
