I am not happy trying to get into this place the past week and I believe it's closed. This was our favorite sushi place must have eaten here 30 times every time was perfect. There are so many places I've been that should have been closed and haven't this one hurts. I miss you Hokkaido.

I got the Teriyaki box dinner. It was excellent. It came with , six sushi pieces, six shrimp pieces, the tariyaki chicken, white rice, salad, soup, fried veggies! For $17 plus tax! What a meal! Thank you!

This is, without a doubt, the best asain, hibachi and Chinese food place in the area! Their filet mignon is always perfectly cooked. Their chicken fried rice has a flavor that's 10x better than any other place in town ... and I've personally tried at least 15 other places in the Capital Region to try to find an alternative that's equivalent. There are none that are as consistent, and none are nearly as good. I've moved about 15 miles away, but this place is still the absolute best in the area. You have to go to NYC or Boston to find anything close.

First visit. They are only doing takeout due to COVID-19. Although the recommended dish was the steak hibachi, I was in the mood for sushi. Ordered the volcano salad, a small mound of seaweed with imitation crab topped with thin slices of avocado and spicy sauce. Quite good. Followed that with the sushi and sashimi combo, another good choice. Included were a miso soup (didn't taste it) and salad with miso dressing. Salad was your average Japanese place complimentary salad.

One of my go to places for Sushi and highly recommended! The food is always fresh and delicious and when I used to work nearby I would order a few times a week. They also have really good lunch specials and most recently I used them to cater a party and all of the sashimi and sushi was fantastic. A+
The miso soup was ok. The General Tso's chicken was terrible. The sauce was virtually flavorless, only very spicy. I like spicy Tso's but with some flavor to support it. I was disappointed.

I've eaten at many of the Capital District's sushi restaurants and Asian Bistros and Hokkaido is by far my favorite in Albany. I used to work nearby and would get lunch or dinner there at least once a week. The food is always fresh and their many different rolls, which are my favorite, are fresh, plump and always great-tasting and fun to eat and are always served with a generous portion of wasabi, soy sauce and ginger. The service is quick and with the Covid-19 pandemic, it's been take-out only (but that may have changed recently - you should call and check) and they take proper precautions to protect everyone. Whether you dine in or take out, live locally or are travelling and looking for some great sushi or other Asian delicacies along your travels, Hokkaido is located on Central Ave, right off Exit 5 (Everett Road Exit) of I-90, where you can jump right back on the highway. I highly recommend!
