The food was hitting, especially the chicken and mac and cheese. The chicken was perfectly cooked, and the mac and cheese was creamy and flavorful. Muffin, our server, was friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was just right. She really enhanced the overall dining experience. I’ll definitely be coming back anytime I’m in Albany.

Why your establishment is being discuss on Facebook, about your bar selling low budget liquor, switching up the brands, like your Henny is not Henny. You guys better get customers.

Johnnie's is a diamond in the rough, seriously the food is "Great", because their chef cooks with love. The service is welcoming, the atmosphere is pleasant with 90s r&b playing through the sound system. And the drinks are great with a reasonable price.

Step into Johnnie's Daughter and you're transported to a world where excellence in soul food reigns supreme. As you savor each bite, the ambiance of the restaurant envelops you in a warm embrace of nostalgia. Good old-school music fills the air, setting the perfect backdrop for a soulful dining experience. However, while the music adds to the charm of the place, some patrons may find it could use a modern update to appeal to a broader audience.Nevertheless, the true essence of Johnnie's Daughter lies in its authenticity, captured best by Mel Waiters in his iconic song "Hole in the Wall." It's a place where time seems to stand still, allowing guests to indulge in the simple pleasures of good food and great company.Overall, Johnnie's Daughter is a gem of a restaurant, serving up soulful dishes that hit all the right notes. With a few tweaks to the ambiance, it has the potential to become a timeless favorite for generations to come.

This place should be listed as a soul food restaurant because the food is top notch....ie fried chicken, seasoned greens , candy yams , corn bread all were delicious ---If you're ever in the Albany area and looking for a spot with a great atmosphere , food , and music you must pull up on Johnnie's on Broadway ---

First time there last night (09/02) after being invited by one of my guys who was actually the DJ there that night and unfortunately I will not be returning. Upon arrival, my guest and I were met with extreme rudeness and unprofessionalism from the lady at the door collecting money. I’m not going to go in here on comments but I am happy to share with whoever would like more specific info privately via inbox if interested. Otherwise, very disappointed and unhappy with the quality of experience overall, I hope she never has to get treated the way we were. We didn’t even stay 5 minutes afterwards. Very poor experience, don’t recommend.

Should have 1 or 2 low tables for those who don't want to sit at the bar.

I felt all the Vibez there. Have been looking for a spot to be myself and enjoy good music, people and food. Went here for a Christmas party and showed out so it's only fitting I support this business. Can't wait to come back and enjoy myself once again.
