We had a wonderful private cooking class for my son’s 20th birthday. Marcela and Yuri selected delicious recipes that met our dietary needs. While stepping through the recipes, we also learned about the Bilbao region’s cuisine and history. The spaces we cooked and ate in were beautifully designed and made for a comfortable and intimate experience.

Fun, relaxing and delicious experience. Besides the excellent educational tour of art and food, we enjoyed laughter and stories with 6 others we’d never met prior. Great experience. Thank you to our hosts for bringing us together.

The end of the old year dinner was another exceptional culinary night of eating delicious vegetarian food and learning more about NYE in Spain. Yuri and Marcela excelled again from the warming chick pea and fideo stew to the handmade postres. #recommend

Wonderful dining experience with fantastic hosts. A delightful experience during a private dinner with six other friends. Excellent food, wonderful explanations of what was prepared for us, and paired with an excellent assortment of wines to go along with the meal. Can't wait to try some of their cooking schools

Our group of 8 had an absolutely fabulous meal at La Centralita last night! Every course was beyond delicious, and the freshness and flavor of the food was out of this world. Our group really enjoyed learning about Spain and the Basque region from Marcela and hearing about how the Marcela and Yuri brought their vision for La Centralita to Albany. It was a wonderful night with good friends, truly excellent food and wine in a great setting. We look forward to meeting again at another La Centralita event.

So much food! So much wine! So much FUN!We have just returned from our trip to Spain with Marcela and Yuri where we again benefited from their dedication to providing a memorable and unique experience to all participants. Our trip highlighted various regions in the Basque country including food, wine, art, literature and language. The hotel accommodations were good, the breakfast overwhelming and the transportation comfortable and spacious. This was our latest experience with Marcela and Yuri but we have been loyal and eager participants in all the activities they offer at their culinary studio in Albany. Whether we have been attending a cooking class, a wine tasting or a meal we have come away with an appreciation of the Basque way of life. To experience it in full on our trip just reinforced how generous, warm and knowledgeable they both are.If you have not attended an event at La Centralita, you are missing out on a venue that cannot be replicated any other place but Spain. You should go. You should take your friends and relatives. But mostly, you should realize how lucky we all are to have this resource right in the Capital District.

I've been to a few events at La Centralita and joined Yuri and Marcela on their first tour of the Basque region os Spain. They are gracious hosts, very knowledgeable and delightful to be with. The food they prepare for their dinner events is delicious and they always provide interesting information about what they serve. The trip to Spain was absolutely amazing! Every day was full of new places, experiences amazing food and delicious wines. They shared the history and culture of the region and created an interesting itinerary with lots of variety. Every day was a new town. We visited wineries, restaurants, a cheese producer, salt producer and more. This was the best vacation we have been on and can't wait for them to do a new trip!

We just returned from a tour of the Basque Country led by Marcela and Yuri and cannot say enough good things about the experience. Much like the events and classes held at La Centralita, everything was meticulously planned and executed. The tour was a culinary and cultural delight that we won’t ever forget. And we got to meet some great people too! Marcela and Yuri are doing wonderful things at La Centralita—do yourselves a favor and check it out.

We had the pleasure of attending a wine, tapas and cheese tasting event at La Centralita, and it was one of the best experiences we’ve had since living in the capital region! Hosted by 2 incredibly gracious people, Yuri and Marcela, you are welcomed into their home and you feel instantly transported to Spain. The event was fun, educational and the food…. Let’s just say it was the best tortilla I’ve ever had (and I’ve been to Spain!) If you are looking for amazing food, a fun night out and great company- look no further!

Experience the culture, food, and hospitality of Spain without ever leaving Albany!Climbing down the steps into the lower level of Marcela and Yuri’s brownstone brought back a flood of memories from my time abroad during college. Their knowledge, thoughtfulness, and passion for connecting people with the Spanish culture shines through during their intimate tasting events. Some tips:1. Subscribe for their emails so you hear about new events before the general public — they sell out quickly!2. While their events are great for couples, they’re even better for double dates or groups of friends. (The event we attended maxed out at 8 guests.)3. Be prepared to want to buy every tasty treat they have in their mercado!
