Great food, good prices and great service and atmosphere. The only thing I would change would be to cook the macaroni less, it's way to SOFT, but very consistent always soft. We need a little firmer like Italy.

I ordered the chicken parmigiana which was highly recommended by reviews and our waitress. It was terrible! It was extremely overcooked having a strong burnt taste and hard to chew! I would have to say it was the worst meal I have had out in sometime! I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone and I will not go back! Do yourself a favor and choose a reputable Italian restaurant!

Took a group there recently. We are always treated well at Lanie's, despite it being very busy. Excellent food; and a nice little salad bar. Our group is not a family situation, and they are very cooperative with individual checks. They also make an effort to give us enough space for 12 people, though the restaurant is not large. It's ironic: there is a long-time Italian restaurant around the corner from Lanie's; and those folks are uncooperative, arrogant, and rude. What a contrast! Our group will avoid that place!

We ordered two burgers - the chipotle chili - one medium rare and one medium. They came out both medium well and extremely dry with no apparent aioli. Our server, Jason, was excellent and offered replacements but it was late in a snowstorm and we were hungry. We had bacon wrapped shrimp with horseradish sauce which were really good. Our daughter veal with eggplant which was good. The fries with the burgers were very good. We’ve definitely had better meals there but we will probably go back

Nice place for lunch or dinner, and blast from the past a nice salad bar with fresh bread and compound butter.

Its barely ok. Very expensive for the mediocre food and overall experience. Specifically: $16 for a shrimp cocktaill with FOUR shrimp. $11/ glass of new Zealand white wine. My steak salad had about 4 Oz of steak half of which were so full of gristle I had to spit them onto my napkin. On a date! Little to no ambience, could DEFINITELY use some textiles for sound deadening. No bread or water served???Server was ok but she got a little huffy when I asked for anything. Just not impressed. Paying for fine dining and would've been better served and had more atmosphere in a diner.

I love coming to Lanie’s every time I am in upstate New York. Its a fun mix of casual/upscale with delicious food.

When I go to Lanie’s I go out of my way to order an entree that allows me to make a trip to their salad bar. Its a real fight deciding which is better, the bread and butter or the salad itself. The bread used here is thick, but cushiony soft, easy to eat, delicious and the spread compliments it very well. Just wish the spread did not have olives but that’s my personal preference.

I went out of my way to visit on our last night in NY and ordered the ravioli. Those suckers were the size of my palm!! I was so excited when my plate arrived and was showing off the size of my ravioli to the rest of the table like a little kid.

The ravioli were absolutely divine. There were 5 on the plate which I only ate 2 since I was full off my salad. The sauce to ravioli was a perfect ratio, but I am also a person who can eat pasta and ravioli plain. The filling was just enough which led to the best bite every time.

I appreciate the staff, they are always so kind, considerate and helpful, even during the busy holiday dinner rush.

Very reasonably priced dishes for lunch. Steak salad had generous portions of steak. Same with the chicken salad sandwich.

This place is utterly disgusting. IT WAS MY BIRTHDAY. Ruined my dinner. From the start asking about if theirs cheese where the bread is and the lady working there said that must be tuff. UTTERLY DISGUSTING AND RUDE!!! Food came out cold. Carrie, Sherry and Moe all did zero to help at all and were arguing to me instead of helping out. Customer service 0. Waiter 0. Register lady 0. If lanies is reading this you guys have to do something about this as I escalate this situation.

Beautiful establishment, slightly overcrowded & quite noisy. Salad bar was located near the bathroom, which was rather un appealing yet a great restaurant with phenomenally delicious food nonetheless.

The curtains tell the entire story. I should have left when I saw the stains and filth on the curtains at the table. If that's the front of the house, the back isn't good 53 minutes for chicken from order to table. And that was not because it was cooked fresh. At all!
The lemon sauce tasted like flour and the pasta has been sitting.

Disappointed in this local favorite

If you're a foodie don't go. This place has food and if you're a cursed with having tasted fine dining before, this isn't the place for you.
The service was great and the atmosphere pretty decent. Probably has good regular food like burgers and stuff.
