I checked out Mamoun’s because I read it had a charming interior. It does, but it’s now take-out only so you can’t enjoy it. I ordered the chicken falafel platter, which was nothing special. The “platter” doesn’t mean rice or vegetables, but just a spoonful of hummus and a few pieces of pita, and was certainly not worth anything like the $15 I paid for it. I don’t usually write negative reviews, but this place is overpriced and without any charm. There are many better options nearby.

Mr. Mamoun is the best and everything I’ve ever tried here has been so good. I’m vegan and find it very easy to tell which dishes I can eat on the website - and there are enough that I still haven’t tried them all despite eating here pretty often. The pita chips are crunchy, the hummus is creamy and flavorful, and everything else is better than you can probably imagine. Take out only which works for me. This is the #1 restaurant I recommend in the Albany area.

The last time I visited this Mamoun’s was the summer of 2001; in person it’s just how I remembered it, but now takeout only. (Too bad… the dining room has classic 80s vibes.) These days the menu has been updated to include “vegan” where it once listed “vegetarian”. For today’s order, we picked a grilled zucchini sandwich, tabbouleh salad, side of falafel, and a piece of halvah. The tahini has a wonderful consistency. This food is nostalgic for me, and Mamoun’s definitely satisfies. Looking forward to returning in the years ahead. Updated from previous review on 2024-06-19
I mean it's Mamoun's! Hard to say much more. Always my go to for great food when I'm ordering falafel. Also the baklava is kind of the standard of excellence that I compare others to when I have it at other places.

Best falafel I've had, and I have tried many different Mediterranean restaurants in my travels. I also like the atmosphere of this place; the subdued lighting adds a romantic feeling. I would definitely go there again!

This place has never been great but the falafel has always been decent. It has been a few years since I last ate here and the latest visit was pretty bad. The lamb was all fat and nothing tasted fresh. I will leave 3 stars based on past history but as for the most recent visit 2 stars at best.
