I had a 6pm reservation. I was sat down at 5:55pm. I got my bread and drinks at 6:30. I got my appetizer at 6:45. I got my dinner (entree) at 7:20pm. Almost an hour and a half later. The service was slow, the food was good. The owner, Connie, came up to my table and kept misgendering my toddler despite me correcting her multiple times he was a boy and not a girl. She said it was because his hair was too long. My mother had made a comment we were debating whether to cut his hair, Connie said “oh I thought you were about to say you were deciding what gender you wanted him to be” with a disgusted look on her face. We just laughed it off as to not make a scene since it was my birthday dinner. She also came over to my table during my birthday celebration at dessert and told me my child was being too loud and people were complaining. No one was complaining and it’s seemed to only be her that had an issue. If a place has high chairs and openly “welcomes” children, maybe just let them be children in a public setting. Kinda ruined the mood of by birthday celebration. I hope Connie can learn to be nicer to her patrons. She was extremely rude and her poor attitude and service overshadowed the good service the waitstaff provided.

E/A: I timed it all, so please do not tell me false time stamps of when my appetizers, drinks food or dessert was brought out. None of the times my child was misgendered was a mistake considering multiple people in my party corrected you and you did it once again when we were leaving. No one complained considering the tables around us were cooing at my child and complimenting us on how well his vocabulary was for an infant.
I have read many other reviews of this restaurant from the past few years and see not only are you combative with any review not being a gleaming 5 star review but you are also very rude to other customers. Again will not be coming back and it was not worth the money. The owner is rude and I did not like her. The fact that you offer high chairs at your restaurant but then comment “other patrons who chose to get babysitters” shows this place is not kid friendly and shows your rudeness towards people with children. I’m posting this response to all the food review pages in the capital district to let parents know their children are not welcome here despite advertising as kid friendly and the owner is a rude bigot. You could have left your review at we will bring it up with our staff and try better but updating with such a targeted rude response is unprofessional and unneeded.

Kid-friendliness: Not kid friendly, owner doesn’t like toddlers or infants making noise and will tell you to quiet them.

We went for a birthday dinner. It took a half hour to get our drinks. The apps came out before them. Dinner came out at almost an hour and a half. It wasn’t a full dining room but only two chefs. The food was very good but lukewarm. One of our diners found a long hair in his soup. No real apologies but it was comped. Very nice atmosphere until you go into the ladies restroom. Did not get why there are photos of half naked men with oiled bodies in the stalls. It was very creepy. Overpriced. Definitely one and done.

We stumbled on the place by chance and were not disappointed. The bartender, Jill was very friendly. Our meals were full of flavor. My husband got the chicken parm and I the barramundi. Finished by a tiramisu martini with a side of tiramisu. Sooooo good. We will definitely go back! Oh! The fresh bread and olive oil topped with tapenade was delish as well!

There is nothing particularly poor about this place. The people were very nice, the food was OK and the atmosphere was pleasant. There is also nothing special here. It really is just OK.

So happy we tried this place. I searched good gluten free food in Albany and it came up and it didn't disappoint. A great date night spot, we sat at the bar and it was cozy. The chef accommodated my gluten allergy and make a GF Chicken Marsala dish which was amazing. You can just tell it was made from scratch, even the sauce. So tasty! Definitely different than a popular chain restaurant where I normally get my Chicken Marsala dish. My boyfriend got a fish dish and said it tasted phenomenal. We both got lemon inspired drinks. The Limoncello martini was divine! We will be back, highly recommend.

We have dined here often as an old married couple for « date night » and with family groups for events like birthdays. MezzaNotte never disappoints —food is excellent and service on point. Highly recommend this restaurant

We waited over 2/12 hours for our meals; 3 of which were the parm specials. The food was just okay. We sat in DR and there were maybe 3(at tops 4) other tables being used when we sat down. A large group of men and many other tables filled after us and they had their meals first. In fact many of them left as we were just getting ours. The waitress was sweet and very nice but to have only 4 glasses of wine ($21.00) taken off our bill for our wait seems a little cheesy. I don't think the owner was very apologetic and one of the persons at our table had veal parm which was a tiny piece of meet. It was not an enjoyable experience and quite honestly the wait wasn't worth it as the food was just okay. The only positive thing I can say is they have a nice happy hour; at the bar only and spending times with old friends made the evening. Furthermore, management needs to do something about the bathroom door in one of the women's stalls as it doesn't lock.

Excellent date night restaurant. Good atmosphere, waitstaff is very attentive. Artichoke hearts for an appetizer were stellar and beautifully crips with a wonderful sauce on top. Gnocchi were soft as pillows and made fresh, all the pasta there is made fresh. The roasted pork in ragu was so tender and delicious.

Dietary restrictions: Gluten-free options available. They ask immediately for any allergy concerns.

We would give MezzaNotte 20 stars if it were possible. We are only in Albany a few times a year, but we make sure to have dinner there every time. This trip, we ate there twice in one week --- for "Parm night" and again two nights later. We have eaten at some of the nicest restaurants all over the U.S. northeast, as well as in Europe, and yet MezzaNotte always ranks near the top of our "favorites" list. The veal parmesan was excellent --- super-tender veal cooked perfectly, with rigatoni in a simple but delicious marinara sauce. The portions were very large. The second night, my husband had barramundi with a lemon risotto and said it was outstanding. I had a beautiful filet that almost melted in my mouth. He also had the caesar salad, which he said had the best dressing he has had in a while. I had the MezzaNotte salad, which is my favorite salad t any restaurant, which is a spring mix with thinly-sliced apples and pears, hazelnuts, figs, tomatoes, and crispy-coated goat cheese in a balsamic vinaigrette. We were too stuffed to have dessert then, but we took out a chocolate mousse cake and a ricotta cake with cherries, and both were fantastic. I should also mention the scrumptious olive tampenade and warm, crusty bread, which we could have made a meal of, it was so good. The service here is beyond excellent. Madison and Mimi, with a very special shout-out to Madelina, were all super-professional as well as very friendly. They made us feel right at home and anticipated our every need. The star is the owner, Connie, who knows exactly how to make diners feel welcomed and cared-about every time. I'd also like to add that this is also one of the cleanest restaurants around. Not a speck of dust or dirt anywhere and everything just shines. All is all, yet another absolutely perfect two evenings at MezzaNotte. We honestly can't recommend a better restaurant.

We received a gift card to MezzaNotte and are so grateful. We were wowed by our food and service. Food quality was exceptional. Loved the special appetizer - burrata and fresh tomatoes and cucumbers. Size of meals were perfect. (Gnocchi and Veal Saltimbocca). Loved that the pasta dishes came in two sizes. Jessica talked us into trying desserts and we did not regret it! The Tiramisu and Gelato were amazing. Highly recommend this restaurant. Can't wait to dine there again.

Went during restaurant week so may not reflect “typical” food. First of all, service was impeccable, and the atmosphere was lovely. We were able to have a conversation and never felt like we had to raise our voices. We both ordered from the special menu—friend's was delicious—mine was so-so. It was a fish with olives and potatoes and was told it was “salty”, which I like. In fact, it was extremely bland and would have benefitted from a good deal more seasoning. But the salads were fresh with a lovely dressing, and the bread was hot and crusty. Also thought the prices were extremely reasonable! Will definitely go back to try again as it may well have just been what ordered.
