It is not hyperbole to state this was the worst restaurant that I ever have experienced. I tried to get the system to accept 0 stars if possible. We arrived at 7:00 and one of our large party was late. After 45 minutes, the waitress finally asked if we would like some appetizers...which included bread and butter. The waitress was not polite, the food portions were extremely small and the food quality was uniformly poor (5/5 of the people around me thought so). By the time my food finally came, after first paying for bread and butter, I stared at my spinach pie entree. It consisted of two breaded rounded patties containing spinach. It arrived in a very small bowl/plate. The patties each were about 60%-70% of the area of the plate. The patties were rounded, and the plate arrived with one patty on top of the other but falling off the side of it. There was not enough room for the two patties to sit side by side next to each other on the plate. Therefore, when I tried to place a knife or fork into the top patty, it would slide off a bit to the side and it was almost impossible to remove a piece of the top patty without squashing/ compressing/maming the bottom patty. I felt like Will Smith in Men in Black in the unstable chair holding a pencil whose tip keeps breaking off. All I could think of was how absolutely stupid the staff was at this place. Did anyone in the restaurant bother to actually attempt to eat this entree in this bowl/plate? I strongly suggest trying anywhere else on Deleware Avenue before considering this restaurant.

Definitely a place to avoid until they redo their menu. All the choices on the menu do not work. From vegan to non-vegan, from apps to main plates, just really not good. It wouldn't be that bad if they didn't charge premium prices for really underwhelming food.If you are vegan, please don't waste your money here for now.Hopefully they get better and take a hard look at their menu choices.

As a chef I was very excited about the potential of a locally sourced farm to table restaurant. In reality I was completely disappointed. The food offerings seemed very intriguing but the flavors and balance to the meals are just not there. Nothing is clicking between the service, long wait for drinks, up charging on the receipt for a condiment, and the hand me down decor from the previous restaurant. Not shy on creativity I must admit, but simply lacking passion, proper seasoning, and service fundamentals. One of those don’t recommend, would try again.

We had the scallops and gnocchi, and both we excellent. The homemade bread and soft butter were a nice starter, and we really enjoyed our glasses of wine. We were just passing through Albany, but would definitely come back if in the area again.

Food and service very good. Enjoyed unusual preparation and rare ingredients. Smoked Beets appetizer was delicious. Ramp and Lamb Sausage was excellent but a bit skimpy with just one sausage. The accompanying braised lentils were underwhelming. Companion's Vegie Burger was very satisfactory. Overall, appreciated their offbeat take on ingredients, i.e. the salted whipped cream on a berry tart. I always get new ideas when I visit!

Very impressed with the friendly, attentive and accommodating staff. We had the tasting menu, and enjoyed it tremendously. Food was perfectly seasoned, creative and very tasty. Would go back in a heartbeat.

Can I start by saying the menu is confusing and disjointed. I ordered the cauliflower ceasar salad and grilled octopus. The salad was not very tasty - pretty bland. The octopus had a burnt outside that tasted like a dirty grill - burnt bacon, extreme salt, yet the inside was ok - not too dried out. My dirty martini was $10, +$1 for olives, +$4 for Grey Goose vodka. $15 - not outrageous but the restaurant doesn't carry the vibe or decor for that price in Albany. PLUS, charged $3 for bread with OVER salted butter. My husband ordered a burger with salad. Total bill $102. Our friends ordered the duck for 2. They claimed mediocre at best...and they order duck whenever offered at restaurant. They're bill came to $100 with 1 drink, 1 salad & pickled plate app. Definitely not rushing back, if ever...

All workers were incredibly nice. Too bad the limited menu and lack of adjustability by the kitchen brings the restaurant down. Portions were small and pricing high. Quality of food was ho-hum--nothing special, but above diner level for sure. Lovely setting and no problem parking.

Cornered against a column between kitchen traffic. Wine was good service was excellent. Food wasn't bad but want worth the price. Was a nice experience but not worth the price considering some of the circumstances and the food expectations.

The inside seems relatively unchanged from it's former NWBB name as far as I could tell. The atmosphere feels like it needs something but I can't decide what it is. Ordered the Local Burrata, House Greens and Pork Schnitzel. At first the menu looks a bit limited with several out-of-the-ordinary offerings (that some will love and others will not - the fun fine line LOL). In hindsight I usually look at the menu before my driving or walking into a restaurant - always wise. The Burrata came out quickly with delicious wafers to compliment the combination of savory/sweet on the plate. It was awesome. The Schnitzel was enough for 2, the bed of parsnip puree was SO GOOD to enjoy with every bite of schnitzel. Another awesome plate (if you're monitoring salt intake this might not be your first choice). The House Greens were a nice assortment of greens, radish and other garnish vegetables with a light dressing. Just enough. The mixed drinks and a little pricier than what you might be used to but overall enjoyed the whole experience.

Absolutely fantastic experience. So many vegetarian options and such creative and impeccable food. Mocktails were yummy, staff were courteous, server was super attentive yet not at all intrusive. I really cannot say enough about how good this experience was. Really looking forward to the next visit. Thanks all!

Decided to check out this place with very fond memories of NWB. The ambience is still there and the wine was good, Albeit pricey. However, I ordered the chicken schnitzel (made with a chicken leg) which also was very good taste wise. The schnitzel came with pretty much nothing aside from a few slivers of yellow squash grilled. For $25 I would’ve expected at least a decent accompaniment to the chicken (chicken leg… Did I say that). Really ridiculously priced but again it was tasty. Unfortunately I probably won’t return any time soon as I really didn’t consider this an upscale eatery what was charged upscale prices.

I really, really liked it. They deserve the 5 stars though they can be pricey. But the service and friendliness and atmosphere was chef’s kiss. I highly recommend.

I'd been before and had a great meal. I had an average veggie burger. Not a huge amount of flavor. Friends ordered lamb and pork. The pork had a few parsnips, and lamb came as a stand alone. A side veggie would have been nice, instead of other things being ala carte. Liked the wine selection and service was really good and professional. I'd go again, but preferred the menu several months ago.

This was our first time back to the restaurant after the rebranding and we were pleasantly surprised that while different, the quality and execution remains high. The food choices for our diverse family (vegetarians and nonvegetarians) was still excellent. Everyone found some thing to suit them and enjoyed it when the dishes arrived. Service was very good, not invasive yet present as necessary. I have every expectation that The Kitchen Table will fill the void left by New World, and then some.
