Personally, I have a household that cook Jamaican and I’m not saying it may be perfect all the time.But I’ve went there 3 times to this cafe and I see them do this a couple times;putting plantain in a fried chicken oil;you’ll know because the chicken skin will be on the plantain.Food not all that great,but can be better. Good vibes with the bar guy but take long for food to come out.

Highly recommend this place. The people were nice and had friendly service. I got my food quickly. It was delicious! I wish I had taken a photo but I already dug in before deciding to leave a review. I’ve been trying all the Jamaican restaurants in Albany and this is by far the best! The oxtails were tender and falling off the bone. They also weren’t stingy with giving meat or gravy. The oxtail has a little kick to it(I can’t handle too much spice) but I would say for people who love spicy it would be perfect. Also the sorrel was very flavorful. I will return!

OMG!!! The BEST OXTAILS I HAD THIS FAR IN NEW YORK!! THE BEST FOOD PERIODDDD!! Everything came out freshhh & that cabbage is amazing, it gave like a smoked flavor, moist and seasoned to perfection. Rice and peas was so hot & fresh burnt the root of my mouth. Plantains was good just wish it was sweeter. Def went back the next day to get another plate!

I’ve been doing take out once per week for about two months for the past two week all my orders are chicken breast they are lying it’s all thigh and back both me and my son only eat chicken breast I work hard for my money that’s disrespectful I won’t be going back food isn’t tasty anymore

First time visitor I was getting my tire fixed across the street. I stopped by when there was only one customer ahead of me, so service moved quickly. The cashier was very friendly and welcoming, both with me and other guests. Inside, there are tabletop seating options and what looks like a full bar. Music was playing overhead—felt like an old DJ club mix—but the visuals on the screen weren’t really child-appropriate. I ordered the curry goat. The flavor was okay—nothing wild this time—but I’d be willing to come back and try another dish before making a final judgment. Overall, a decent first visit with friendly service. Worth giving them a try.

I was craving curry chicken but didn’t feel like cooking at all. I saw this place driving by and upon entering thought it was a club due to the DJ set and lounge set up in the front. The food was further inside and the restaurant itself was clean and organized. The curry chicken came with sides and was delicious and well seasoned.My order also came out quick which is a plus.
