I cannot believe how bad my $8 coffee is.

RECOMMENDATIONS FOR PEOPLE LOOKING FOR A SOLID COFFEE DRINK:

Alias is just around the corner from the downtown location and WORLDS better.

Jacob Alejandro’s is just around the corner from the lark street location and is on a separate level.

Stacks is… underwhelming to say the least.

For the love of coffee, switch to Oatly for your oat milk.

Excellent drinks. Great service. The only slight downside would be paper and plastic cups. The baristas are always friendly and professional.

Painfully slow, rude staff. Music is pretty crap, too.

This has been my favorite coffee shop in Albany for a while (favorite local chain), but the past few times i’ve been in it’s been a 10+ minute wait even to order. I like to pop in on my way to the train station, which has just become unfeasible.

We’re from out of town and needed 2 drinks to get our day started. We ordered two drinks and they mixed the milk types between the two. We had to ask twice + wait 15 minutes for them to remake 1 latte.

Bagel sandwich was pretty good but they seem to not be able to handle a lot of people at one time.

Stacks came through on an early Sunday morning for the regatta. Their coffee was awesome and the muffin tasted delicious!

I went here for the first time a while back and someone named Rin(?) was so helpful. They explained the menu to me and gave their recommendations. You don't get that type of customer service often nowadays. Not even at Starbucks. I will 100% be coming back.

Sad they took their vegan options off the menu, the avocado is really subpar as it’s frozen and not worth it to buy. The matcha is pretty decent though

It was a fine coffee shop. Coffee was great, service was okay, pastries were okay, and the atmosphere was mid. I recommend for coffee to-go, there are better places to go if you are going to sit in the cafe.

Sadly, Stacks isn’t recommendable. Despite today’s unforeseen early closing, they still accommodated us, but the coffee was my least favorite in a long time. I use Maps while traveling and thought this would be a good stop.

I hear it has good coffee. The service is painfully slow, the staff is rather nonchalant about the customers' being helped. The majority of the staff is much more interested in the talking with each other than making sure customers are taken care of. The music volume (which is at a comfortable volume) does make it all but impossible to hear your beverage being whispered as ready. This announcement occurs one time so you better be paying attention.

I've been a regular here for a while and used to really love it, especially when Sophie and Ivy were working — the coffee was consistently great. Lately, the quality has been hit or miss. Maybe the current team is still in training, but I do miss the consistency and service from the original staff.
