Sweet Elevation Bakery made an amazing lemon blueberry cake with pasty filling and buttercream frosting for my daughter’s bridal shower. It was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend using them for special occasion 👰🏻♀️
They special order cookies are yummy. So far each cake design I have ordered have been a hit with guests.
I normally don’t write negative reviews but since the bakery tried to blame me for their poor cake design in the review my husband left, I feel I need to share my side. My husband’s review is the 1-star review by Sam.
My order is in the photo below. As my husband stated, I asked for the theme to be pastel colors and daisies. We received a smash cake with daisies, and cupcakes with plain pastel frosting and no other decor whatsoever. As the owner mentioned, No, I didn’t specify where to place daisies on the cake because I trusted the bakery would come up with a design based on my request (pastels AND daisies). I did ask for a potential design review but they apparently aren’t able to do that. Perhaps a daisy on each cupcake, a simple daisy tooth pic at the very least, etc…..I’m confused on what more I needed to say in the description. I felt like it would be obvious that pastel frosting alone wasn’t the “design” we expected, especially based on the price of almost $300. I’m surprised by the bakery’s response that I should have been more specific on the request… this is why we ordered from a bakery that does specialty cakes -so they’d take the theme and actually apply it to the order!!
In regards to the comments on the location change being the reason for them not correcting the order, that doesn’t make sense. It was pouring rain that day so we moved from an outdoor venue to an inside venue no more than 2 miles down the road. It’s not like we moved it to a different town, so to claim they would have fixed it if we stayed at the original location simply isn’t true.
As far as stating my husband’s comments were inaccurate because he didn’t actually make the order, that’s ridiculous. You’re making the assumption he had no input or knowledge of the order which is just ignorant. I understand your defending your business but your comments are inappropriate and self serving. I’ve used the bakery for a cake before and was pleased, hence the 2-star review today and not a 1 star.
I struggled with whether or not I was going to give a review but I just found out a family friend of mine had a similar experience to me.. so I opted to leave this review. I am a single mom trying to plan my daughters first birthday and I am not cheap by any means but I am trying to stick with in a budget and decided to go to a few different bakeries on Friday to inquire about prices and to see what they offer. The girl who cashed me out at the front could not have been more rude. I was the only customer in there and she seemed annoyed that I was even in the building! (& I even bought two cupcakes and a dog treat so I was giving them business) I asked about making cupcakes with a daisy theme and I asked for an approximate price and she goes “um I don’t know.” And I’m like oh ok are you able to see a starting price and she looks something up and goes …. It starts at 80 you’ll have to inquire more online. I had some other questions and she couldn’t be bothered. And seemed annoyed I was even in there. I was literally the only customer in there and she seemed annoyed that she had to get off her phone and communicate with someone face to face.
And then today I was telling someone about my experience and she told me she inquired about cookies for my baby shower (she took care of all the sweets) and she said the girl on the phone was so rude she hung up on her and ended up getting them from a different place.
It cost nothing to be kind. That is all. I am a single mom just trying to throw a nice party for my daughter and wanted to check this place out in person and ask some questions in person and I just couldn’t believe the cold shoulder I got.
Super disappointed with this bakery. We ordered cupcakes and a smash cake for our daughter‘s first birthday party. We asked them to design them to match the party theme, which was pastel colors and daisies. These were set to be delivered to our party location on the day of the event which they were. When they arrived, the smash cake had some daisies as requested, but all of the cupcakes were simply topped with plain pastel colored frosting. No daisies at all, not even a sprinkle to add something to the design. We obviously were super disappointed seeing that the cake/ cupcakes tend to be the center point of the party, and seeing this was our daughter‘s first birthday we obviously wanted it to be nice. We expressed our disappointment with the owner, who dismissed us saying that our design request should’ve been more specific. I’m not sure how you get more specific than requesting pastel colors and daisies…. And daisies!. It seems like they did the least amount of work possible and just did what was easiest for them. We spent Nearly $300 on a cake and some cupcakes from this place, and ended up with the same quality design that you could have gotten from a supermarket bakery for a fraction of the price. Save your money and go to somewhere that puts emphasis on their customers satisfaction, and doesn’t just take the easiest path possible for them. Never again
I want to first say that I truly love the past work this bakery has done for me.
They’ve made cookies and cupcakes.
Recently I ordered a smash cake for my son. I sent in two photos as inspirations. Since I had previously gotten beautiful pieces before I had no reason to feel in doubt. I sent my husband. He knows the details and perfectionist I am and sent me a photo.
I was so dispointed. I ordered a bee hive that was supposed to be smashed and I don’t know if this gets a lower priority than the other beautiful cakes they’ve made for others?
The bees they made looked rushed. The honeycomb was shaped like cheese. The hole to hive was massive.
I ended up having to scrape the bees off and buy some candy ones at Micheal’s in a last minute effort to save the photoshoot I planned for my son.
Again I am a big fan but I was so sad to see this piece.
Big thanks to Sweet Elevation. The team knocked this custom order out of the park. The flavors, texture, and decorations solidified this birthday experience. Would rate 15/10, would do business with them again. 🙏
My daughter cake turned out pretty and it tasted OK. Everyone loved it at the party. The communication could’ve been better, I had to chase them around to acknowledge any of my concerns regarding my orders (cake, cookies, and cupcakes) if I did not call them. I know I kept changing my orders but an acknowledgment would’ve been nice and not just choosing what they want to acknowledge. I Paid an extra $75 on top of the $50 I already paid to have it delivered on Sunday since they’re closed that day and to not get the utensils I paid for to cut the cake was highly upsetting and an inconvenience to say the least and have yet to receive a refund for that. I also had changed the flavor of the bottom half of the cake and still got what I did not want. I reached out to the owner personally about it but again was ignored. Overall, I felt disrespected , overcharged and not valued as a customer which took away from the experience, especially after Spending over $500. I expected so much more and was highly disappointed with the services I received.
I have to share a quick shoutout to Sweet Elevation Bakery in Latham because they absolutely blew me away. I went in to pick up a special order for our amazing school nurses—two custom boxes of baked goods—and from the second I walked in, I was hit with the most incredible smell. You know that warm, cozy, just-out-of-the-oven kind of scent that instantly makes you happy? That.
The staff was so friendly and helpful, and you could tell they genuinely cared about getting everything just right. The place itself was spotless—super clean and organized, with a really calming vibe. But the real showstopper was the actual baked goods. I’m not kidding when I say they looked perfect. Each item looked like it had been carefully made by hand, like someone took their time and poured a little love into it. There’s definitely an artistry to what they do—it’s not just baking, it’s a craft.
Long story short: Sweet Elevation nailed it. I’m so glad I found them, and I’ll definitely be going back (probably more than I should).
omg! I was absolutely in love with my cake for my bridal shower from Sweet Elevation. It was absolutely stunning. We ordered a gluten free carrot cake and you would never know it was gluten free. It was moist and delicious! I keep thinking about how pretty it was! Thank you thank you thank you! We were not planning on having a wedding cake and this cake made me rethink that thought...we shall see!

The website states they serve food like sandwiches and salads. You can only buy bakery items here not real food. The bakery items are good but this site needs to be updated

I placed an order for a tasting box after a emailing briefly with the bakery to be able to try their cake, fillings, and frosting options for our wedding cake/cupcakes. My order was never confirmed that it was ready during the 2 hour window I requested. When I did show up just prior to the end of that 2 hour window, my tasting box was ready, so I was glad I did not need to wait. I brought the box home to try with my fiancé. I followed the directions on the box to leave it out to let it get to room temperature, however, all 6 trial cakes were very dry and did not taste good. The chocolate ganache filling on one of the cakes was good, but nothing else tasted good. While the 6 trial cakes were fairly large, there was little to no variety within the box. Two of the cakes were the exact same (vanilla cake with vanilla butter cream, except one had a small circle of strawberry filling on top). The other cakes included chocolate, red velvet, funfetti, and carrot. I was very excited to trial their cakes and fillings due to the vast number of cupcake options, however I was very disappointed. We didn't take more than one bite of each of the cakes and had to throw the rest away. For $50, this was a big waste on our journey to finding our cake/cupcake bakery for our wedding.
