Not a lot of space and it gets pretty cold inside, but the food is phenomenal.

Had heard positive things and decided to finally try. Unfortunately, the day we showed up service was very slow and disappointing. 35 minutes to get a drink, appetizers came out before we got drinks. Service is as important to me as the food, maybe more so, as the entire family was frustrated with my choice to go there

The one in Albany is better. This one is pretty good. Last time we were there we ended up under their Sonos so it was loud for us but probably not for other patrons. The Orange San Pellagrino was more like OJ and seltzer (although we have had a bottle of Orange San Pellagrino before, so maybe this wait staff didn’t know?).The chicken was definitely not the slow cooked, tender version that it is in Albany. However, the pita is buttery (texture) and tasty. The harissa is spicy and flavorful. The lamb is tender and not grizzly. It’s just great food that’s unique. No other places cook the same way or fare. Most if not all are gluten free, soy free, nut free and dairy free. It’s an awesome place that almost always gets 5 stars from us but just slipped a little on the last trip. We will definitely be back!

I absolutely love Tara Kitchen. The food is always stellar. The space is pretty, but can feel a little crowded/loud if it's busy. It's an excellent option for meat eaters and vegans/vegetarians alike. Dine in for delicious mint tea with your meal.Vegetarian options: The Lentil with Artichoke, Olives, and Preserved Lemons Tangine is a favorite. This time I had Cabbage, Potatoes, and Peas Tagine. The dip trio appetizer is also a great vegetarian option. There are many other pescatarian/vegetarian/vegan options.

Chicken Tagine with mixed vegetables in an apricot and prune sauce . So yum. Chicken perfectly cooked; sauce delectable. Fluffy pita and rice on the side . I could show you the trio of tapenades (eggplant, olive, and parsley ) we had and the spicy grilled shrimp appetizer except we scarfed them down. Service stellar as well. Tara's has got to be one of the best restaurants if not the best in this area .

The food was very fresh and clean. Absolutely no complaints about the food. The service was good. They answered all questions and were very nice. There was no heat. It was pretty cold in there. Nothing was said. I overheard someone asking about it and they were trying to fix it. I would have appreciated them telling us or acknowledging it. The decor was thoughtful but everything seemed cold. I have been following this restaurant for a number of years. The owner seems to travel alot but the restaurant did not reflect that. We drove 1.5 hours to get there. I have wanted to try it for some time. The ambiance just was not there for me.

Comfortable and relaxing setting. It was pretty calm for a Thursday night, but I guess it was around Christmas. The food was all delicious, especially the lamb. The spices were amazing, and the meat was fork tender. On top of that, there was so much I filled up but still had to take a lot of it to go. I've been saying I'd go there for years, but I certainly will be visiting again very soon!

Some of the best and most authentic Moroccan cuisine I've ever had. They serve an incredibly sweet tea to start. The chermoula appetizer is a must have, it is tangy and savory. The host recommended the lamb with lentils, eggplant, and harissa for a spicy dish, and it certainly did not disappoint. 100% would go back.

This is excellent. They keep refilling your tea shot glass all night. The food is very good and the portions are great for the price.

It has been more than a decade since my last exposure to Moroccan food with a close friend sharing his culture. While I enjoyed those different restaurant visits with him, I definitely stopped after he completed his degree and returned home. I happened to chance upon Tara Kitchen while searching for recommended lunch spots in Albany, where I chose to stop for lunch before continuing my drive to Niagara Falls. It's a cute little place with a small buffet spread for lunch, which I opted for since I wasn't feeling particularly picky and wanted to sample a wider variety of dishes that allows me to better gauge their culinary touch. It was a quiet day and only one other group was in the restaurant. I jumped straight in and grabbed a touch of every hot dish served. The flavor profile was slightly different from what I remembered having with my friend. Don't get me wrong as I'm no expert in Moroccan cuisine. It was just a new experience all over again. The food is good, slightly towards the sweet fruity side, but still balanced. I was more honestly impressed that a buffet was able to serve tender cuts of chicken breast...which usually dries up and dies hard on the hot hold line.I would return again if I'm ever in the area. It's a nice different touch on ingredients we are all familiar with.
