Beyond disappointing experience. We've eaten at other locations many many times like the Niagara Falls and Yonkers so we know what to expect and that's why we keep returning to Texas de Brazil. We've eaten in Albany a handful of times over the years and most recently in April 2025 before last nights dinner on 1/24/26. First when we asked the host if we could have a different table she seemed beyond annoyed and said take it or leave we're packed as the restaurant was next to empty and the whole time we were there it never reached “packed” level. Also we barely received any meat service and when we did it was the same cheap cuts, and they didn't have beef ribs until we were done eating. When the servers did bring meat they were extremely rude and aggressively serving and putting the meat on our plate. Making the vibes super hostile and a terrible first experience for my mom's birthday. $600 dinner bill with drinks feels like I should have just thrown the money in the trash. I've spent about 7k on Texas de Brazil and Fogo de chao dinners the past 12 months and this location is absolutely not worth the money. The waitress was super friendly but there's not much she can do when every body else that works there is rude and does not care to do there part.
Meats were over cooked and over salted. We wanted Medium rare and there was no reddish color in any meats except the Picanha. Filet was tough and medium well at best. It was my birthday and I was lead to believe that dessert was complementary and was charged $11. I had gift cards and didn't argue.
Was an amazing date night destination. They are so fast with the food that there is not much time to talk, but it tastes very good and was a great experience.
Our waitress almost never came over. Our drinks went unfilled. The meat carvers were sparse and only came over rarely. My husband sat with an empty plate several times.
The speakers in there rattle the whole time which is kinda annoying but the whole time we were there the waitress was rushing us to be in & out. I understand that they try to limit the time but after 30 minutes of being there I feel like we shouldn't be rushed out. Especially when paying 60$ per person and 8$ per water.... It was an interesting experience - I would assume other locations may be better than this one.
We were extremely disappointed with the quality and volume of the meat. Texas used to be a place where food would come out so fast that we'd have to turn our cards to red to slow down. Quality was also much superior to now. This is 2 years in a row we've gone on 12/31, and we pleaded 3 or 4 times for more of the better cuts, especially picanha, flank and tri-tip. The picanha came by 1 time in over 90 mins, flank twice and tri-tip once. We asked our servers at least four times for more picanha but it didn't come. When you're paying over $90 per person, that's frustrating and unacceptable. We won't be going back anytime soon
The service is fantastic and very attentive. The amount you pay is well worth the food and it is well prepared.
Great experience, never been disappointed with the food and service. My family and I have been coming for years and we always leave stuffed and happy.
This place has gone downhill. The meat is super tough and has no flavor. Where are the Brazilian spices? Even the "spicy" beef was bland and tough to chew through. Lamb chops are now an à la carte option; but even the leg of lamb made only one appearance in over an hour. Ditto for (requested) medium rare cut, which was at least chewable. The so-called "fillet mignon" (tough, overcooked) wrapped in bacon was basically inedible: the bacon was not cooked through. The best of the sorry selections was the sausage; at least it had some flavor and was chewable! Just awful overall. On the salad bar, the "hot dishes" were beans and rice! In the main section, the smoked salmon was plentiful but extremely bland; saved by the onions and the capers. There was no bread, even after I alerted the waiter. The lobster bisque was delicious, even though it had only a passing acquaintance with lobster. I ordered "Brazilian Kiss" for a cocktail, and the first one came out fine, if overly sweet; the second one was barely drinkable - bitter, with a different mix of liquors. Did the bartender depart, and a random waiter was pressed into service? And speaking of service, it was slow and inattentive. Overall, very poor value for the over $100 spent.
We just got in to town to see our daughter and son-in-law. We appreciated that Texas de Brazil was open on Christmas Day and had a wonderful meal with the family. The food and desserts were wonderful and the staff was so nice. It was a great experience.

I've had many Brazilian style steaks but the taste didn't cut it. Quite disappointing. Among what they serve, only 2-3 meats cut it (plain steak, ribs, and another steak, all else bland). The salad and side dishes were very good though. However, they also didn't replenish the lobster bisque. I ate leftover soup in other words. Dessert was extra too so value wise this is not worth the price you pay for. I understand drinks were extra but desserts should be part of the set.
The experience, food, staff and ambiance was amazing. The staff was friendly and very attentive. We can't wait to go back again.
Not what it once was. The level of service has waned but not totally gone. The buffet and dining experience is not what it once was.
The food was sadly so disappointing for the price! 6/7 of the meats were so tough! Only one beef offering was tender. The service was fine. Overall just disappointing for what you pay to dine here.
It was wonderful food. If you like meat, go here. So many choices and not enough room in my belly. Even though the meat is great, the bananas were fantastic to end with. Somehow I was able to eat them. All of the gauchos were great, except one seemed to not like us and completely skipped our table every time. They have a good salad bar, but I was there for the meat!
