***THIS BUSINESS WAS RECENTLY ACCUSED OF BLATANT RACISM. PLEASE DO NOT SUPPORT THIS BUSINESS UNTIL THE OWNERS ANSWER FOR THEIR ACTIONS AND TAKE ACCOUNTABILITY*** An unnamed black woman was VERY RECENTLY fired from The French Press Cafe & Creperie after she reported her coworkers for saying both the N-word and "white power." Management publicly shamed her, put her safety in jeopardy and determined her claim was not valid. When she explained in lengthy detail how she felt this matter was handled poorly and did not feel safe returning to work as a result of their lack of action, they fired her for a no call/no show. It'd be a shame if they receive so much backlash they choose to never reopen. Cafe Owner: Morgan Pellitteri Manager: Dania Jackson

Beignets made to order with any filling you want. Delicious, strong coffee. Friendly and accommodating staff. This is a welcoming and relaxed basement cafe with plenty of space and a convenient location. They even accommodated dietary needs on the spot with some creative substitutions!

With limited staff today, Jess was wonderful! she worked very hard navigating the orders. She was thoughtful and kind. I will definitely visit again.

Our experience was significantly below what you might expect from a restaurant with a 4.8 star rating (at the time of this writing.). Service was pretty slow for an empty restaurant. We had to grab silverware from a neighboring table since we weren't given any. My vegetarian daughter was served beef gravy on her fries, despite her request this be put on the side. No refills offered for my coffee. Plates not removed when our table became crowded with dishes. Which is fine I guess, but not five star fine.

I'm so pleased they moved uptown, much closer to my job. Excellent spot to grab lunch. I had a savory crepe with spinach, cheese and pesto, it was delicious! Beautifully light, great flavors and not soggy. Jess and the man behind the counter were friendly and funny. I'll be back!

This is a fantastic spot for a morning bite. There's a wide variety of sweet and/or savory crepes. The french press coffee is delicious as well. Plenty of options, all affordable. Will definitely be back.

The French Press recently moved from their old spot next to McGearys and reopened across the street from my workplace on Washington Avenue. They are ALWAYS consistent with their menu, always attentive and friendly to their customers, and the owner is frequently visible and engaging. It's a refreshing place to come for breakfast or lunch. Highly recommend. Crepes are amazing.

Fantastic coffee. Had the Ron Swanson and it was super tasty and filling. My wife had the bagel egg sandwich and seem to like it. We got cannolis and beignets to go both were mouth wateringly delectable.

We popped in for Saturday brunch and were very pleased with our experience. I had to Bon Voyage crepe with lemon, blueberries and brie, and it knocked my socks off. Hubby enjoyed the Ron Swanson breakfast burrito, and then we split a large french press. Everything was delicious, the coffee was great, service was awesome and the ambiance is nice too. We will definitely be back!

This place is amazing! I just walked in today for lunch, after raving reviews from my co- workers. I met the owner, who is quite funny as well as the the staff. At first sight are pleasant team of ladies that great you with a smile. Oh and if you don't know know what a Crepe is, ask for "Dana" she knows the answer. The chicken salad is amazing delish!! I also had the Potato leak soup ? ? ? the chunks of potatoes was great it was thick and hearty. I will be back, maybe even the weekend. Hope you guys do well and prosper.

We ordered for a large group of 20+ and the owner could not be any kinder or accommodating. The crepes and sandwiches were delicious, with all of us hungering for more. If we ever come back to Albany, we will be back. Highly recommend!!
