We just had a private party for 40 here and they really exceeded expectations across the board. The food was fantastic and interesting for a buffet line, the service from the coordinator/server and bartender was really excellent, the beer selection was world class, and it was a cool interesting old building. For food we had chicken parm (really good), a great braised (?) pork dish, a large salad that was artfully presented, and the green beans and asparagus were perfectfully lightly charred, everyone was commenting on them. Only downsides were the unexpected step down into the bar, & chairs up on tables in the unused front bar. They are really well organized for private parties with extensive menus and prices posted online. Very impressed

We decided to try out The Hollow based on the glowing reviews we read on Yelp and Google. Since my wife is vegan and we wanted to celebrate her birthday, we were specifically looking for a place with a wide array of vegan options, and The Hollow seemed to fit the bill perfectly. Despite the initial stress of finding a parking space, we eventually secured one. Arriving at 7:30 with a reservation for two, we were promptly seated by the window, offering a charming view of downtown Albany. Our server greeted us, but unfortunately, he began by informing us of several unavailable menu items due to what he claimed was a busy week - an odd statement for a Monday evening. After a slow start, our drinks finally arrived after a ten-minute wait. We hoped for a more engaging experience, especially since we mentioned that it was our first visit, but our server didn't offer any recommendations or engage much with us. Despite this, we were excited to try the vegan mozzarella sticks and opted to sample both the jam and marinara dipping sauces, only to be surprised later when we were charged extra for them. Although the mozzarella sticks were disappointingly small for the price, they were passable. Our main courses, the vegan chicken sandwich, and beer cheese burger, however, were enjoyable. After delivering our food, our server seemed to disappear for the remainder of the evening, not even returning to drop off the check. Instead, someone else brought us to-go containers and the bill. While we appreciated the restaurant's ambiance and convenient location, our overall experience fell short of our expectations, leaving us somewhat disappointed.

Came here for lunch on a Friday afternoon during the busy basketball games at the MVP Arena, and I was so thankful that they took reservations. We were sat immediately when we got there, and the lunch menu had plenty of options, including more casual options such as burgers and sandwiches as well as a selection of entrees. Their craft beer selection and cocktail menus are also pretty impressive! For lunch, I opted for the Salmon Burger while my boyfriend ordered the Beer Cheese Burger, both with sweet potato fries. Mine was fantastic, and I loved the pineapple slaw on top. His burger was also delicious and cooked perfectly. The pretzel bun was also a nice touch. Overall, they have great food and drink options and a nice atmosphere, making it a wonderful choice if you're in Downtown Albany!

Great food, great service, awesome staff. A nice little hideaway in the middle of the Capitol! They also have great vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free options!

Their dining area is very nice. The live music portion of the club often seems, extremely overcrowded, uncomfortable, and hard to move around. Very difficult to find seating in the music venue. Parking is very difficult some areas to the north are very unsafe and drightening.

Really cool vibe. Very attentive staff. Food was good and drink selection is great. Place was really busy just before a couple of local Saturday night events. Reservation is a must!

This place is upscale, however I got the risotto and the texture was strange. Like a pile of thick rice porridge. There weren't grains of rice in a creamy sauce, it was like a rice mash. It had strips of sliced cheese melted on top. It wasn't worth the price. But the salmon was cooked to perfection and was a big portion. I'd come back for the salmon only.

This was a fantastic night out from beginning to end!. We really enjoyed the music; the sound was top notch, very welcoming atmosphere, friendly and personable bartenders, peraonable door persons, waitstaff, etc, I had gone there without eating-expecting to find a quality meal just based on the restaurants reviews and reputation. We ordered the brisket and the Tennessee hot chicken sandwich. Both were outstanding. Parking was very convenient. I've had some experience e in the restaurant industry. I am also a huge fan of so many local and visiting musicians and bands. I have been to hundreds( maybe more concerts). I have been impressed by many of the venues/ restaurants for alot reasons; but usually O can say with a certain degree of confidence that the main focus of the business is either on the music, atmosphere, crowd or food- the remaining aspects are usually satisfactory and possibly above; but its probably the firat time I have seen where all aspects were excellent!!!! I can't wait for the next night out with family and friends.
