They were closed! Not sure why reservation system active and still show open on Google. Someone should shut it off
Perhaps our first mistake was making reservations for New Year’s Day. That being said, they should have only offered bar service. We were seated right away and that is where our service ended. Apparently the bartender was also supposed to wait tables as well. It didn’t appear she was aware of this. We sat for a while waiting for some attention. She asked what we wanted to drink and never came back. We left. So, technically we never dined. I don’t think we’d give them another chance.

Service was great. The food serving size was large and arrived quickly. Pricing was as expected. The bathrooms were a mess which is why the star for Atmosphere is lower. Overall a good experience here for dining in at a booth seating. Did not try out the bar seating or table.

Seated on time...looks like the restaurant was short handed...as it took a little time before waiter came and took our order..waiter was stretched thin as we saw him waiting on a whole section of tables in the restaurant..appetizer came..was tasty and presented nicely...we then waited longer than a normal wait for entree...but when it came... was presented nicely and tasted great...finished dinner ..only saw waiter one time since initial ordering...he asked if we were finished with our dinner...we said no...and told him what desserts we were interested in..they were brought..nicely presented..tasted fine...we then had to track him down for food boxes for food we hadn't consumed and if we could have the check...waited approximately another 10 minutes before he took my payment to settle up..all this while a 2 year old child screamed the whole dinner at table next to us...it was New Years Eve..the couple was young..and I'm sure they needed a night out...but the little one wasn't cooperating making their night not what they were planning I'm sure..they didn't need us to add to their dinner woes...
We've been here MANY times but especially on NYE! Always quiet and controlled for people not into partying with large groups! Henry our server tonight was polite fast & efficient! However... he talked softly which made it hard to understand but overall he was great! However, Standard NEEDS at least TWO bartenders on NYE -> if not always! (Hint!) My only other complaint is PAH-LEEZE fix your lights outside (see pic) It makes a classy “ joint” seem like something in an OLD movie or a place on its last leg... I know it's old school for ambiance but FIX the outside lights! It's been this way for years.. Trust me I know! 😉😳
Terrible inattentive waitress it was a disaster it looked like she also working the bar. Our food had obviously been sitting before we received it. Never gave us bread never checked on us we had to flag her down for refills and then that took forever, The table next to us complained and got comped for their meals we were in a rush or I would have complained too. If this is what it’s like when you make a reservation to The Standard I think I’ll take my business elsewhere. It’s like the bar is the priority and the tables are an afterthought. I get better service at Applebees

Food was fine - the restroom was out of order. Last time I was there the air conditioning wasn't working. Not sure who is responsible for keeping the facility functioning.

What's the price to have the best dumplings, and a pretty good scallop dish. Normally I take a picture but I think I wiped it out before I can pull my camera out it was just too good and I was too hungry!!!

PSA this is a wrap round review from my entire experiences here...
Like Dj Khaled, here's another one!!
Welcome back Jacks and Jills (just watched that movie) it's ya boy Vin Vin and I have another review for you.
We have frequented this establishment for sometime, there was a point that we were going there at least once a week. Food was always on point and delicious. We loved our servers and almost always came back when they were there.
Then we had a horrible experience with our cocktails tasting like tin, the food not being 100% on point which pissed me off because it's not cheap to eat there. So we gave it a break and in my mind I swore I would never go back. I was being dramatic cause let's be serious that Calamari and honestly everything I ate was always good.
So fast-forward to last night.. this was the second time I went back on the "Standard comeback tour" and while it was extremely busy, the food was on point and we had great service. Drinks took a little long as the bar was swamped... I meanwe got our apps and our meal before our first adult libation. That's the first time that has happened, and I blame that on the amount of people not the establishment itself.
I remembered to take pics of the apps, the calamari and the app tasting sampler. They were both great... Meals were great too the sliders and the short rib burger were on point. Long story short, everyday is not everyone's day, so if you like a place and they disappoint you .... Just try it again. Then if they suck, well break off with them. The Standard was like a partner, someone I felt married too, then I had to separate from them, only to reconcile because of all the good times!!
I'm happy I did. Go to the Standard, enjoy the food, the service and drinks.
Vin Vin approves.

Arrived for an early dinner so it was pretty quiet. Took forever for our server to stop by. Finally showed up and took our order. Wife ordered a mix drink that eventually came out about 20 mins after our waters. Food was decent but service had been lacking the last two times here. Won't be returning.
I used to come out to eat here with my girlfriend. The food here is fantastic. And the mixed drinks are yummy

My friend and I have been here several other times. This experience was not what our usual experience was. It took awhile before our waiter showed up. In fact it took another server to see that we were left in the abyss. Bread and drinks finally came. We each ordered small side salads. When the salads arrived they were huge. The waiter came over and said oh I put in the wrong thing. We were thinking the waiter would acknowledge his mistake and make it correct on the bill. When we clarified everything with him, he gave some lame excuse of oh well I asked you if you were alright with it. In my head I'm thinking it already took this long for you to come with drinks and bread, if I send this back, we're not going to see salad before our burgers. So the salad was ok. Greens were great. Red onions on there was past their prime. Ripe. And we both took bites of our salad at one point where something not good happened. It was like a scallion or something that had gone bad. Burgers came out. Fries were mediocre at best. Deli shaved lettuce like you'd get on a hoagie on the burgers. The thousand island dressing was really thick for our salads. There was no sense trying to put it on the salad. Ended up dunking vegetables in it. The server checked on us once, if that. The people that brought the food to us couldn't answer questions, they didn't understand what we were saying. It was just a really odd experience. Took forever for the check to come. And when it came time to pay that's when the server tried to shmooze us the most. He was aiming for a good tip. That salad set the mood for the whole experience. Even if you look up on Google how to handle that experience, it blatantly says that they should have comped that salad for the one we specifically ordered. In addition to this memorable experience I felt sick on my car ride home. Probably food poisoning. From reading other reviews of mice, rats, rare food, bathroom issues, buttons in food, moldy olives in drinks, people getting sick outside the restaurant. I'm not sure I'll ever go back. The health board should probably shut them down. Mice running around in a restaurant and bathrooms with water on the floor, and food that is not fresh is enough to shut down this restaurant. Appalling truly... There's not enough room for me to express how horrible this experience was. Don't go here! Chef Ramsey from "Kitchen Nightmares" needs to come here. Can you imagine what their walk-in actually looks like if people are throwing up right outside the restaurant? They are actually repeatedly giving people food poisoning by their lack of "Standards". Wrong name for the restaurant. With people amping up to finally go out again after the pandemic and support local restaurants you clearly need to do better. Your business will be among many other businesses that fold in the next year if you continue down this horrific path. You have a prime location. A captive audience. Great atmosphere. But if your waitstaff is untrained, that's management. If your food is not fresh, that's management. If you have mice running amok in your business that's management. Whomever owns this business should have a serious conversation with whoever is overseeing this establishment. You have a gold mine in front of you. But if people continue to walk away with these experiences, they won't come back. They'll tell their friends. They won't even take the time and write reviews. They'll just write you off for that one bad experience and won't come back. It isn't like it used to be where we all go out all of the time anymore. Everything is expensive. So you really need to try and make it the best experience when people come out. If you can't do that then you have no business being in the hospitality business. At this point your better off just staying home and having a meal where you know the ingredients are fresh.

Blue cheese crusted filet was cooked to perfection and incredible price. The blue cheese crust was very prevalent and just paired so well with the steak and the wine I had. Just absolutely well done. Great service as well.

The ambiance and food are always great here - not the issue. The service is book or busy, and this visit was more of a bust. The server was likely on the newer side, but was clearer not trained in the art of customer service. Lack of communication, not checking in to see if we needed anything (had to flag him down to get more drinks, nothing after our dinner was delivered), and no birthday acknowledgment even though my reservation called it out and I told him before the birthday girl arrived. Will be back, but hopefully a friendlier server.
