I had a turkey club and fries. A diet and a cup of decaf. All was good. The waitress was very friendly and upbeat. She was attentive and had a large group to take care of. I have not visited in a long time and the staff was very nice .
dirty place to eat,and waitresses are rude, look at carpets old and dirty, eat there at your own risk!!!!!!Were inspected by health dept june 13 2024 found lots of nasty things in kitchen and duct work dirty, bugs and rodents this place is a mess looks of place are deceiving!!!!
Great diner food.
Worst diner food I ever had EVER,stale as heck toast, tiny omellette, freezer burned mozzarella sticks and about 4 French fries.Horrible.
Love love this place!
My son and recently stopped in for lunch. We had dined here previously and loved the mozzarella sticks! During this visit, we ordered the mozzarella sticks and my son ordered the chicken parm sandwich. Mozzarella sticks arrived and as we began eating them with the marina sauce, we looked at each other and said "are you tasting cinnamon?" We asked our awesome waitress and yes in fact there was cinnamon in the sauce. It was SO overwhelming we couldn't eat it. My sons sandwich arrived and behold..cinnamon in the sauce. Cinnamon and chicken really isn't an enjoyable combination so that wasn't eaten either. I totally understand the scientific reason for using this spice, but it shouldn't be tasted in the sish. It was awful. I would encourage the servers to please let your patrons know ahead of time that your chef uses cinnamon in the marina sauce. We won't be back, we'll get our mozzarella sticks when Capitol City Diner reopens.

Came here to eat but the "lady" who seated me was not friendly at all. When entering I greeted her and asked if I could have a window seat if possible (there was one available that I could see). She said "no" and mumbled something about having two seats open but walked me to a seat beside the bar ??♀️ I was so confused. My waitress came right over told me it would be a "little bit" while I looked the menu over. I noticed a couple came in and was seated in a window seat (which left a bad taste in my mouth). My waitress came back ready to take my order and I told her I didn't want to order here anymore and how I felt overlooked by what the hostess did to me and she apologized. Sadly, this was a horrible first time experience and I can not say rather I will be back or not.
One star for the hole the hostess put in my heart. She's the first person to set the experience for the business and she failed my expectations for this establishment ?
Three stars for my waitress's apology for the hostess. She was very kind but I still have a bad taste in my mouth for dining here. I truly hope others have a better experience than what I had.
Real tears for a real experience ?

We really love this diner: this is our newest 'go to'. The price, quality, and portion size as a whole can not be beaten. It's small as far as diners go! But WORTH the trip.
Negatives: hours need ro be changed on line. I have put them in 8-230. Closes 3, stops serving at 210.
Positives: it's a top notch cost effective breakfast lunch joint, and shouldn't apologize for it!
Parking: Back and side parking. No street parking.
Kid-friendliness: VERY kid friendly, not easy for strollers and car seats.

Awful. Went there at 1:50pm and was told at the door they close at 3pm. Ok that’s over an hour away so we went in. Then at about 2:15 they started vacuuming while people were eating. Come on have some common sense. The food was not good. There are plenty of other diners in Albany.

The best diner I have been to. The waitress was so nice and the food was delicious. Guardian Windshield Repair recommended this diner to us while we waited for our truck to be fixed, and I am very glad they did. Great food, amazing environment! I'm definitely coming here again.

The chicken sandwich sucked, meat was extremely thin, and our waitress was not customer service friendly

1)they failed Health Dept. test just recently 2024.
2)my 3 egg omelette that I got for years was reduced down to half it size !!! They said its the way he folds it. Not, he has been folding it the same way for years, chefs do not change their ways, and it would not reduce 50% on my plate.
3) the coffee cream was spoiled.
4) toast has almost no butter
5) cheese omelet had almost no cheese inside.
conclusion - after going there for years with no complaints facing all these changes it look to me they have a new chef doing the cooking but they will deny it. Bottom line it's what is on the plate that tells the truth. so we have decided to go somewhere else !!!

I see a lot of good reviews here so maybe my experience was unique but I won’t be going back. Very disappointed in the service. Very slow and we felt like we were being a bother for them to be there.
Food was ok but nothing I’ll go back for.
