The service and wine list were both excellent. The food ranged between excellent foie gras and dramatically overcooked salmon. Several items on the menu were not available, and the salmon was a replacement for the tuna dish I had ordered.

Always enjoy our meals here it’s lovely! I love the unique fresh breads - sun-dried tomato, saffron, always unique. My favorite is the suckling pig it’s amazing. Our last visit my mom had flown in from California excited to have their foie gras. At first we were told they just ran out, but a few minutes later the server said the chef had set a piece aside for a special guest who didn’t arrive, so they prepared it for my mom on the house - so nice of them! Nobody would do that nowadays, 5 stars based on that gesture alone!

We have been here many times and we're very disappointed in the quality of the food. Many items we look forward to were not available. Some food was served cold and the flavor, quality and texture was well below our previous experience and expectation. One of our party had the pairing menu, not one time was there a description of the wine or an explanation of the rational for the pairing provided.

Incredibly disappointing. The waiters did their best to save the day but our experience at Yono’s was one of the worst ever.

What went wrong:
- even with a reservation we waited for 45 min to be seated. Nobody offered any drinks or snacks
- the food service was incredibly slow (as in waiting for two hours for the entrees)
- the food quality was shameful, to the point where I was seriously wandering if you could serve this in a restaurant

I feel very sorry for the waiters who had to endure this with many, many angry customers that night. It clearly shows how bad management can destroy a restaurant that was supposed to be one of the best in town.

I will add that the restaurant kindly discounted our bill admitting that this wasn’t up to their usual standards.

‘Don’t worry, it’s almost over’. That’s literally what a server said to us about our experience there. We went on NYE and it was the worst experience eating out of my life. We waited for almost an hour to get seated, even though we had a reservation. The menu was meh at best. The main course was hard to eat. We left before the dessert came because the hours we spent there waiting for the courses to come were just not worth it. They barely offered bread and water in the meantime. Honestly, there was nothing about fine dining. A food truck would have provided a better experience. I do not recommend this place. The guests we saw leaving the place were also looking pretty worn down. A server mentioned that the main chef left the restaurant this year, so maybe that’s why it used to be good but longer is? We won’t be coming back. I’m not a good cook, but my food is better than why we had there.

It was a delightful experience overall. The amuse bouche was potato leek soup--very delicious. The bread and butter were excellent. They oysters were tasty as was the spinach salad with overnight tomatoes, whatever those are-- they are delicious. The main courses were good, especially the beef rib, which was incredibly tender and slightly spicy. The service was impeccable. We were made to feel like royalty.

For years Yono was the only Michelin star worthy restaurant within the Capital/Saratoga/Lake George region. It is still excellent, but since the operations have been handed over to the son of the proprietor, the service is not at the same level (except for the sommelier, who is excellent). The food is also just a slight notch lower, with one dish being over-salted and the tasting menu lacking some of the flair it used to possess. So, Yono is still a great restaurant, but unfortunately it is not at the world-class level it once was (we have eaten at numerous two and three star Michelin restaurants in Europe and the States, for the purpose of ethos).

My boyfriend and I went to Yono’s, and we were positively surprised in every way. The food is amazing, the atmosphere is elegant, and Kiara’s impeccable service made everything unforgettable, she truly is extraordinary. You are without a doubt our favorites in Albany and the entire region! ♥️

This was our second time here. We went a little before our wedding to destress and again today for our 1st anniversary. We ended up doing the tasting menu with a wine pairing. Our sommelier, Josh, was so knowledgeable and friendly, and we can't say enough kind words about our server Kiara. Definitely recommend this to celebrate a special occasion!

We celebrated a wedding anniversary, and the staff all acknowledged it and made it feel like a special evening. We really liked our servers. Very friendly and relatable. The food was delicious - from the oysters to the fois gras to the cotes de boeuf were all terrific. The wine pairings were great. We'll be back.

The overly attentive servers, interrupted the conversation between my wife and I all night, asking " how everything was ". It became quite annoying. Although my Suckling Pig was very good, the pasta in the rabbit appetizer, that we shared. was very thick and overwhelmed the rabbit. My wife's Veal entree was served in cubes, which were tough and tasteless. Although the food presentation was very attractive, in the final analysis, it's the taste that matters Needless to say, this restaurant did not live up to it's ratings or our expectations.
