For years Yono was the only Michelin star worthy restaurant within the Capital/Saratoga/Lake George region. It is still excellent, but since the operations have been handed over to the son of the proprietor, the service is not at the same level (except for the sommelier, who is excellent). The food is also just a slight notch lower, with one dish being over-salted and the tasting menu lacking some of the flair it used to possess. So, Yono is still a great restaurant, but unfortunately...
This was our second time here. We went a little before our wedding to destress and again today for our 1st anniversary. We ended up doing the tasting menu with a wine pairing. Our sommelier, Josh, was so knowledgeable and friendly, and we can't say enough kind words about our server Kiara. Definitely recommend this to celebrate a special occasion!
We celebrated a wedding anniversary, and the staff all acknowledged it and made it feel like a special evening. We really liked our servers. Very friendly and relatable. The food was delicious - from the oysters to the fois gras to the cotes de boeuf were all terrific. The wine pairings were great. We'll be back.
