About 1864

Located in Alexandria Bay, 1864 is a must-visit restaurant that offers an exquisite dining experience. Known for its tomahawk ribeye, fresh salad, and crispy fries, the restaurant is a great destination for both small and large groups. Although it may be pricier than other options, customers agree that you get what you pay for. The restaurant has a lively atmosphere, with a live band performing on certain nights.

The staff at 1864 are friendly and attentive, especially Daniel, who provides incredible service and makes polite conversation with customers. The food is delicious, and the charming ambiance of the restaurant creates an unforgettable experience for tourists and locals alike. Guests praise the quality of the salmon and scallops, describing them as phenomenal and served fresh from the skillet. The restaurant's menu features items like the not your Macdonald burger, lobster roll, and fried cheese curds, all cooked perfectly.

While the service is generally good, some customers experienced delays before being acknowledged at the door. Occasionally, certain dishes or common liquors may be out of stock. There have been instances where two customers shared a dish and felt unwell the following morning. Despite these minor issues, visitors often leave satisfied and eager to return, with some planning to come back specifically for the great food and friendly service. The lively atmosphere, combined with attentive staff like Daniel, makes 1864 a memorable place for a special night out or a casual meal.

We are from Buffalo NY and visit Alex Bay often. Every time we are in town we stop in for Lunch/Dinner.
We stopped today and we had Maria as our server.
She was amazing ! We brought my 92 yo grandmother with us, And she was full of questions.
Maria took the time to answer her questions and even explain some of the dishes to her.
The food was great as always.
We will definitely be back!

We were bummed our typical brunch spot closed so we decided to try 1864. Food was good and mimosas were great but the absolute best part of our brunch was our waitress Emily or as we lovingly came to call her Beetlejuice. Emily was amazing we were in zero rush but she was the only waitress on at that point she was attentive and checked on us often. Girl was a champ she will only understand this comment but we still have your back with Carl 😉 we will a million percent be back...read full review

Always a great meal and great service! Our bartender Hayden was great! He definitely knows how to serve and go the extra mile for the patrons! A definite recommend to enjoy good service, great food and a very relaxing, welcoming atmosphere.
