We were visiting Thousand Islands.
Stopped to eat here one night.
Cute place. Seating both inside and out.
We sat in the bar area- football games were on.
Food was good. The homemade bread served warm was amazing.

While visiting the area from Illinois we found this charming restaurant. We decided to celebrate my 71st birthday there. The service was outstanding the food was beyond exceptional. Jody our hostess surprised us with a delicious brownie topped with ice cream and a delicious cherry sauce. We may need to make the area an annual visit and a definite stop at Cavallarios. 4 people, all the meals were not good. I had a rack of lamb, the meat tasted old and it was sitting in a pool of oil/grease, the mint jelly looked like it was scooped out of a jello cup and it was served in a plastic cup, the mashed potatoes weren't worth eating all of and it was a $40 dish that came with no salad or vegetable. My sister had the crusted pecan salmon which hadb whole pecans just sitting on top and a sweet glaze on top, they weren't baked with the salmon, it was just gross. My Aunt had French onion soup which was good but her lobster escargot was a just few pieces of lobster in cheesey oil pool with no garlic or flavor. My mother had angel hair spaghetti with their homemade sauce, it was very bland but the most edible of all the dishes. They should just buy their sauce from the grocery store though. It was expensive which would have been fine if the good was any good. I would have rather had Subway or anything then what we had. I hardly ever leave reviews, but you should know not to come here! It's not worth it and we regret choosing to eat here. We won't be back. Our server, Grace did a good job.

The only reason we come to Alex Bay in the fall is to go to Cavallario's before they close for the season. A class act with excellent food and reminiscent of great dining of years past...
