Amazing food. So much so we came back twice during our trip to the area. Service was a bit impersonal and slow the first night, but the second night our server Max took care of us and we had a great experience.

Get the margherita focaccia, crispy canellini beans, and skirt steak. You won’t be disappointed.

Seating is a bit tight, but the ambiance is lovely. We will definitely be back!
My husband and I are huge fans of the Il buco restaurants generally, and al Mare in Amagansett didn’t disappoint. Every corner of the establishment is beautiful so one can’t really go wrong with where they choose to sit. My favorite was the sea bass with eggplant, peppers, tomato and pine nuts- a really simple dish, celebrating each and every ingredient. We were a bit surprised by the limited pasta options on the menu but the seafood more than made up for it.
Although it was a busy July night, our waitress was really on top of things. The food was nothing to write back home. We had big, totally unseasoned slabs of tuna, stringy broccolini, lukewarm but tasty bucatini and the very doughy pizza focaccia. The music was terrible - classic rock in department store makeover - but nobody goes there for the music, and for the food probably neither ;-) Nice atmosphere and a lot of people watching.
