Had the pasta and a specialty cocktail—both were excellent. Pasta was flavorful and cooked just right. The cocktail was creative and well-balanced. Service was friendly and the atmosphere was relaxed. Highly recommend!
I’ve heard rave reviews for Il Buco in New York City, but since I was in the Hamptons on a weekday (with more traffic than expected), I decided to venture all the way to Amagansett. I didn’t like the service here; I waited around 20 minutes for a table because of the lack of staff. When I finally say down, I ordered an anchovy focaccia and a steak. I’ve enjoyed many wonderful meals at the original il Buco in Noho, Manhattan, and al Mare in Amagansett now has another piece of my heart. The verdant setting, the rustic modern interior design, the attentive and friendly service, and, WOW, the food all blended perfectly. Brava!

We arrived hungry on a rainy Friday night and ordered a quarter of the menu, then returned the next day to enjoy brunch al fresco.
