Mt. Fuji Amsterdam

Climbing to the top of the mountain.

Could have sworn I've reviewed this location prior, but apparently not. It has been quite some time since I have been here, with the last being when Mt. Fuji first opened and that was a dine-in experience at their hibachi tables.

Now I've partaken of the take out sushi, and while I don't quite recall how I felt previously, I think I'd say both times have been pretty great.

Ordered online using their dedicated site going with an order of the Calamari, a Spicy California Roll, and a Monster Roll. Coming to just over $34 after tax and tip.

I was actually surprised at how small the calamari proportion was, as I was expecting something more akin to a basket size, and all I got was more like a sampler size. I get it is an appetizer, so you don't want to fill up on it, but I was not expecting to be filled up by the sushi alone. Speaking of, the spicy california roll was very fresh and had a lot of avocado. It lacked really any flavor, even the spicy sauce didn't do much besides add heat, so I had to use the leftover chili dip from the calamari and some soy sauce to liven things up. The monster roll however was perfect! Nice and full of yummy ingredients, a fantastic flavor that blended together with the others, and it was hefty. This was the real winner of the group.

Considering their large sushi roll selection, I'll probably be back to try some of the others.

We went here for dinner my daughter ordered California roll and a dragon roll her friend also had a dragon roll. My wife had seafood and noddles and I had chicken and steak teriyaki all was amazing, came out fast and hot we actually had to wait a few to let it cool down( I'm not complaining). The only thing I'd pass on would be the fried rice i just didn't like the taste. However we absolutely will be going back. Thanks for a great night out.

Went to this establishment for my birthday recently and will not be going back. Why? We were charged a mandatory tip on our bill after already tipping the chef in cash but the other couple at our table were not charged a mandatory tip. The other couple even spoke up on our behalf but were silenced. When we asked why we were charged the tip we were told because it was a party of 5. We weren't with the other couple and didn't know them. Then, we were told it's because we came too close to closing time and it was an inconvenience to the staff. We got there before 8pm and the sign says they close at 930pm. We left before 9pm and there was a party of 10 still being served in the back corner when we left. When we got the receipt to sign, we were asked a third time to leave a tip... really? The food wasn't great, service was awful, and we were treated poorly. I had the worst case of food poisoning the next day and had to take a day off work. Oh and I have a food allergy that I told them about and had to take Benadryl in the car on the way home because I was breaking out in hives. We love supporting small businesses but won't be supporting this one again. Enter at your own risk.

I have been eating here since the week they opened and I agree with those who say it’s changed for the worse. It’s now hit or miss whether you get your entire/correct takeout order, and the last time we got the sushi boat, half the fish smelled and tasted fishy, which means it’s gone off.

This place was once a great place for sushi but not so much anymore.

Don’t waste your money here!
At least not at the Hibachi.
The chef was very boring and the mixed drinks were Terrible. Not made right at all!!!

The food was ok. I ordered onion soup but got miso soup. The noodles was cold. Service was slow. Heard the chef was new and learning the trade. I will give them sometime to learn and revisit again.

First , of all ordered shrimp and it was not deveined . Could not eat it after that . My husband ordered chicken and beef and both were extremely dry . Ordered the chicken tatsuo age and literally got chicken nuggets like the ones you get at the Walmart next door . It’s a real shame . For the price , you would expect quality food & service .

Check your bill! They added in 18% gratuity even it terrible service! We had to talk to the manager to get it removed and they gave us a hard time about it.

They add a 20% gratuity! It was just 3 people (myself, my husband and our teen daughter).We understand large parties (it even says in their menu that parties over 5 people will have added gratuity) but just 3 of us?? Our total was $100 plus $20 gratuity (which they add on the receipt like it’s part of taxes) and then want you to give MORE tip on top of that. Never going back again. The food is 3-4 star, chefs are great but this is just wrong and just left a bad taste in our mouth and their kids are running around the restaurant into people and bothering them while they’re eating. We always tip well (20% or more) but I don’t appreciate that choice being taken from me.

I've been eating here since they opened and it's always the most delicious and high quality food! A great place for a big group of people to have a fun and engaging dinner or a quiet booth lunch.You can't visit Amsterdam without having Mt. Fuji!!!

Have enjoyed in house always beyond expectations. Order pick regularly always pleased, now that's just a tip. Always good 360 all open to mind and presentation ?
