We had a bereavement luncheon for 25 guest yesterday and we were so impressed with the food quality. I was blown away by the attentive service, and kindness from the wait staff. We can’t thank you enough for a very delightful ending to a difficult day.
After waiting over two hours with a reservation at 6, we finally got our food. My dinner was very disappointing..the turkey blt wrap which was gross.$300 dollars later for a party of 5. Not impressed.
Classic Raindancer. Service was a bit slow for the timing that we were there. Had a great time with family and good food.

I've been to the Raindancer a few times now and I enjoy that the place is bigger than it looks from the outside and that you don't always need reservations. However if you have more than two people I feel it's safer to have a reservation than not. It gets busy there every day of the week. The ambience inside is cozy and unique. Twists and turns or steps into cozy secluded dining areas. It's really nice. Prices are in line with other finer dining restaurants in the area. In my picture I had a Caesar salad with their house made salad dressing. It's very good and I ordered grilled shrimp on top and it came with a warm, lightly chewy roll. Everything was very good. My companion and I chose to have ice water with lemon to drink as their soft drinks are expensive at $4.95 with no refills. They do offer ample serving sizes with their large mason jar drinking glasses. Still we thought $10 just to have a drink was too pricey. My companion ordered a beef and cheddar wrap au jus with French fries. She didn't care for the au jus as it was tasteless. The wrap itself was tasty and they offered a side of horseradish sauce if anyone preferred that. Overall I don't think she will be ordering it again. We also shared an appetizer of hot, crunchy onion rings with horseradish dipping sauce which were very good. We like it here and will return as they do have excellent service.
Had an amazing experience tonight! We were in luck and got the best seat in the house, right next to the fire place. I was craving prime rib, I get nervous going to restaurants after prime dinner rush because most places sell out if prime rib by then. But they had it! We ordered tons of apps also which were also amazing. Valerie and her “bestie in training” did a great job! Thank you for making our night great!
Meat/seafood was cooked nicely and portions were large. Waitress friendly and knowledgeable. We got spinach and artichoke dip, a steak special, and shrimp scampi. 4/5 because flavoring of food was on the bland side and it took a while for food to come out.

good vibes, not so great food. friendly waitress, loved the environment, but my sandwich (the motz?) was more fat than meat and they said it’s “just how prime rib is.” i know prime rib can definitely have a fatty layer, and that’s really no problem for me, but this was more than half of my sandwich for real. if you wouldn’t plate it, why are you putting it in between bread?

Posting this for my parents because they don’t have a google account, but wanted to make others aware of the experience they had tonight on 1/18.
Wow has this place gone down down hill. Haven't been here in 20 years and will not be back. Waitress was great but probably a little too honest. My mom had scallops that were not cooked completely , actually cold in the center ( almost 40.00 cost ) , my dad don't usually agree with her but he said send them back immediately after he tasted them . The waitress came back and said " well the cook says we haven't had any complaints tonite !!!! Ok they were cooked trust me ... when she brought the scallops back the plate was extremely hot , what an insult they threw them in microwave and over cooked them ... they left the whole plate of scallops on the table and left. And yes they paid for them . This place isn't cheap for being in Amsterdam NY it's kinda of pricey actually. Definitely don’t recommend this place. You’re better off going anywhere else.
Have been here many times, fairly new to the area, have yet to find a dish I love. But it seems like it’s the place to go for Amsterdam, nothing particularly special, but I continue to go because of outings with friends, work, or funeral receptions. Anyways, my MIL give my husband & I a $100 gift certificate almost a year ago, & it somehow managed to get wet & the majority of the ink came off the certificate. I went back to the restaurant to see if they would honor it as you could still see the pen indentation of the signature & the amount. Unfortunately, they brought someone who looked like a cook from the back, with a distasteful attitude & refused to honor it because they ‘haven’t had gift certificates in years’, when I know that’s a lie because I’ve received a couple while here over the last 2.5 years, a simple, ‘no, I’m sorry, it’s probably expired’ would have sufficed without trying to talk someone down & getting all fired up. Or at least half of what the amount clearly was, to get my husband his dish. & although I was hoping they would, I wasn’t surprised, just another mediocre business.Telling my MIL not to get me anymore gift certificates, gifts cards, napkins, anything from here lol & steering all my family & friends away. Just a very unprofessional interaction that could have easily been avoided should they have a behaved decently, seeing that this wasn’t a complaint to begin with, just a question, & I really wanted to give them another chance to finally find my dish. But this was not ok. Try Moscatiello’s in East Greenbush tho! Delicious! Or even Nicolino’s just down the road! Lorenzo’s is good too as well as La Mexicana & La Fiesta in Albany.

This was the worst dining experience I have from the food to the service from the bartender ever had and would never ever go back.

Nothing special about this meal. No specials noted or offered. I ordered a salad with steak on top. The meat was barely cooked and someone forgot the dressing. My partner ordered a chicken Caesar salad which also came with no dressing and no chicken. Best part was coffee and dessert. Very large menu but again nothing special.

Went and ordered the New York steak. Was completely raw, the outside of the steak was grey and slimey. Threw up my dinner in the parking lot before I even made it to my car, the outside of the restaurant stinks like rotten eggs.

Waitress was great. Thanksgiving dinner was awful. Undercooked sweet potatoes and fake mashed potatoes. No seasoning. French onion soup was bland . Seafood Mac and cheese was just ok. I was very disappointed with the food.

I came into the Raindancer for the first time in awhile every time I do I am surprised by the professionalism and experience provided by the staff.
Tonight I had the pleasure of being served by Jaclyn at the front bar. She was welcoming, patient, incredibly professional, and kept a positive and uplifting attitude even with a full bar.
This type of service is hard to come by and Raindancer seems to deliver it consistently. A big thanks to Jaclyn and her colleagues for providing yet again an amazing experience that represents what Amsterdam NY has to offer.
