Must-stop for lunch every time I am up in the area. Their menu varies often, but if they have the steak sandwich, order it. Everything is very good - even though the menu is small and handwritten on a board, it is still very hard to choose. Ideally, bring company and get a bite of the different options. Great drive through very scenic farmland, with a view to the Berkshires on one side, and then you can catch glimpses of the Catskills on the drive back, assuming you drove in from the west.

Their main business is likely the catering - I haven't tried that yet.

Delicious fried chicken. Feels like a wonderful country home. Mountain momma.

Honestly I didn't eat. Friend and I walked in. Tables were full, the feeling we both got when we walked in wasn't very welcoming unfortunately so we quietly left. We Originally went there because a local said the food was amazing. So I can't give an honest review, but inside was very clean and neat.

The Farmer's Wife catered our wedding, and I wish they could cater our wife. The food is outstanding, prepared by a master of their craft and it shows in every offering. On top of catering, they have a cute little spot where you can go for breakfast or lunch. It's a small menu, typically made that day, and they also have prepared foods like soups and quiches. We try to go up there just to grab a quick bite when we can or pick up some stuff for later. I can't stress enough the quality and skill that goes into their food. As for the actual catering experience....well that only gets outdone by the food itself. Our wedding was a buffet style, and Heather was a mastermind of organizing her people so that everything went seamlessly. She was also very helpful in helping us with some of our planning, definitely going above and beyond. We really could not be happier with them. I would give them 10 stars if I could.

We stopped by this morning because we heard about this place. We were disappointed that they didn't offer more breakfast items. My husband had one of their breakfast items, and I had a bagel with cream cheese. The few items on their board for lunch looked appealing but we arrived before they start serving lunch at 11am. It took us an hour to drive there one way.....a long way to go for a breakfast sandwich and a bagel!

2 stars for godawful, unprofessional, ignorant behavior.

I am far too late writing this, but hiring the Farmer's Wife to cater our wedding and rehearsal dinner was one of the best decisions we made by a long shot. I don't know about you, but I had never before been to a wedding where the food was truly delicious. We have had countless guests comment on how yummy the food was. I still think about the fantastic flank steak with paprika chimichurri we had at our wedding dinner-- so tasty! Besides the incredible food, Emilie is so a joy to work with. She is organized, kind, and very detail oriented. She made sure our wedding weekend ran smoothly. We were living out of the country while we planned our wedding and she did several site visits to make sure that catering would run smoothly and efficiently. She handled all our rentals and met with us so many times over the course of our wedding planning to talk details and ideas. With The Farmer's Wife we were able to plan our whole menu and it felt like a true collaboration. She was also attentive and creative whenever we expressed budget concerns. If you are looking for an event caterer in the Berkshires or Hudson Valley SERIOUSLY hire The Farmer's Wife. I cannot say enough good things about this wonderful catering team. The entire catering staff were kind and attentive, many of our guests especially loved the bartenders. Do yourself a favor and book this wonderful team ASAP.

We are so glad that we found The Farmer's Wife and worked with Emilie, Job and their team for our wedding weekend. The food was excellent and offered the fresh, farm to table feel and beautiful seasonal flavors that we were looking for. Emilie was an absolute pleasure to work with. She was flexible, down to earth, highly organized and knowledgeable about all logistics, and coordinated perfectly with our planners throughout the entire process. Great food, amazing staff and would highly recommend!

Great country vibe—not a quick grab-and-go joint. Probably the best breakfast sandwich or fried chicken sandwich you'll ever have.

Their door signs say they are open.
Their website says they are open.
Google says they are open.
They are of course CLOSED.
I only walked here today out of desperation, no car because of a flat. I was reminded how second rate The Farmers Wife became once Dorcas left.
I could hear staff inside. I knocked repeatedly. No one had the manners to respond.

The food is adequate, the place is clean. The teenage boy at the counter is super polite and awesome. The older woman who is probably the owner can use a lesson in etiquette.
