This was our first time to Gavi and it was chosen on the basis of the good online reviews. The appetizers were generally quite good. Fried calamari and a shrimp special. Unfortunatly that was the highlight of the meal. The main courses were not very good. Two people had a stuffed sole special, which was not particularly special. It was hard to pinpoint what was wrong, but it did not satisfy. There was one pasta dish, which was fine but not exceptional and not worth the price. The service was good, attentive, and friendly. We had an early reservation, and during the start of the meal, the noise level was fine. But as the restaurant filled, it became very loud to the point that normal conversation was difficult. Because of this, we skipped coffee and dessert.

Such a great experience! The bartender Carly was fantastic, friendly, attentive, and made the night feel special. The food was incredibly fresh and thoughtfully prepared, which really stood out. You can tell a lot of care goes into both the drinks and the menu. We'll definitely be back!

Typically we enjoy our food here. However this time it fell below our expectations. While half of our party enjoyed their food, the other did not. I ordered the risotto with shrimp, broccoli, sundried tomato special. I love risotto. But this was not risotto. It was definitely overcooked white rice. The broccoli must have been frozen. It was tasteless. i ate the shrimp that was boiled and took the rice home. I was very disappointed. My husband tried it and thoroughly agreed with me. However he enjoyed his chicken milanese. My friends husband enjoyed his pasta dish, but she said her caesar salad was “okay” and her shrimp app special was okay as well. Not sure if it was just an off day, but I told them it was, since Gavi was our suggestion.

The food and service are always excellent! They are extremely accommodating. When in the last minute we were unable to keep our reservation due to weather they changed our reservation to the next day!!

Everything was good but the restaurant was exceptionally loud. All the large tables were situated together which made for a concentration of the noise. Also, the background music was turned up quite high. Gavi has good food and generally great service and can be energetic but not loud. I am hoping this was a one off experience.
