We came here for the first time tonight, we've been wanting to come in for a while now. The place, in my opinion, is beautiful! Really quite lovely. However, I am a vegetarian and there was next to nothing, besides salads and pizza to eat. Not even a pasta dish. So that was disappointing. They have a fairly substantial menu, I think they need to adjust it and add some meatless options. My wife had the porkchops and loved them. The service was very good as well. I would return, I just wouldn't go super hungry so that a few sides would do the trick. Lovely ambiance. I recommend overall.

I have mixed feelings about this place. The menu looks great. The service is always excellent. It's beautifully decorated, but it's really, really loud. There's nothing wrong with the food, but what you're getting is Westchester food at Manhattan prices. I've had fish, steak, and duck here. Nothing tasted bad, but it just wasn't *special.*

Celebrated 2 birthdays with family. We shared the antipasto and hummus boards which were both good. For dinner we ordered the duck, shrimp with pasta, chicken, pork chop, tuna and lamb. Everything was great except for the lamb. It was almost all fat, and not edible. We advised the staff, however there was some confusion and they thought we wanted to "congratulate" the chef on the lamb. Waiter came over to clarify and said he would speak to the manager. The manager never came over and they did nothing to accommodate. Disappointed.

Went to pick up food and see a very young child at the bar with the dad and his friends and they are ignoring him knocking back drinks and I brought this to the front end hostess to which she stated I know laughing it’s so sad he comes all the time with him and does that. Um what?!!! I saw the father and said not ok and he laughed and said the mom knows. When as a society did we become so irresponsible that having a minor sitting whether accompanied by an adult where alcohol is being served- became ok? Is he going to drive that little kid home on a night where it’s pouring and under the influence. Shame on you, Modern Barn fir not protecting that child! And shame on the father for exposing a little kid repeatedly so he can get his good time on. It was heartbreaking to see this and no one cared. I care that’s why I’m posting
We have been to Moderne Barn for dinner but never brunch. We were so pleased with the food and service. The staff was so friendly and pleasant and the food was delicious. The French toast was to die for!! Can't wait to return.

My oh my where do I begin? I wanted to love this place so bad! It looks so beautiful… but looks only get you so far.Gorgeous restaurant. Terrible food. So bad that it got me sick! And the customer service is even worse !!! Read for more .A nice reunion with friends at a beautiful restaurant quickly turned to a horror story. I bite into my food and a black hair comes out of my mouth. Boy oh boy. I know these things happen so I told the waiter who was very apologetic and sent it back. A fresh plate came out- but seeing how I almost just swallowed someone’s hair I kind of lost my appetite and took a couple bites and decided to take it home. Ordered dessert as we were celebrating a birthday and it was awful!! The brownie- Dry, crusty and just… terrible ! We told the waiter and he had some snarky comment as if we were causing trouble.. but yet we were nice the whole time.. even after pulling a black hair out of my mouth. Mind you we have a hefty bill, we aren’t being shy, two bottles of wine, several apps and desserts, etc. the least he can be is kind and sympathetic to the fact the food was awful!Less than 4 hours after dinner I become VIOLENTLY ill. Yikes. I called the restaurant to explain they wanted nothing to do with me. Said they would call me back. Never did. Then said the hair was blonde, which it wasn’t even a staff member said “omg that’s a black hair!” And when I finally got someone on the phone I was extremely polite and she jumped down my throat, I asked her to take a step back and to please speak to me with some respect as I am speaking to her in a kind manner, she should reciprocate the same energy . And I’m also a customer. She was NASTY! For no reason! Melissa was her name. My goodness I had no idea that customer service could be so poor. Our bill was quite expensive and they couldn’t even offer an apology, a gift card, a $40 refund?! Just awful! I could go on and on but would rather not.If it wasn’t for the poor customer service I would 100% go back to have a drink at the bar and not eat the food- that’s how beautiful the place is. But the fact that EVERYONE was so nasty… is a complete turn off from this place. A customer of yours got sick- from your food… do the right thing. Simple. But common sense isn’t so common these days.I have put this matter into the board of health’s hands and hope my truth will reveal itself.

As always, the food at Moderne Barn was outstanding. We had the NY strip steak and the Honey Garlic pork and both were truly delicious. The Honey Garlic pork may be the best thing I've ever been served, anywhere. An amazing dish I highly recommend. My rating of only four stars is because service wasn't great. We think our server left early and it seemed no one was around to help us. When a waiter did arrive, he seemed a bit put out that we wanted to order dessert! We chalked it up to a lack of communication on someone's part, and didn't let it ruin our evening.
