I was referred to this restaurant by a co worker and folks that live in the neighborhood but I was warned about the nasty attitude of the female owner and she definitely lived up to her reputation on my first visit.
So, food was great but first impression count . Nothing is worse than great food served with hostility. Really sad it’s the only Caribbean spot in the neighborhood and I can’t support it.

The food was pretty good the only thing that didn't taste as good was the Mac and cheese. Also the worker's really Nice! I waited up to 5mins there were other people ordering.

My girlfriend and I stopped by Goody’s BBQ in Far Rockaway for lunch after hearing great things about their Jamaican food. We ordered beef patties, stewed chicken, Rasta Pasta, and rice and beans, along with a pineapple ginger and a ginger soda. Everything was delicious, and the chicken was so tender it fell right off the bone.

Some people mention the food is not spicy enough, but for me it was the perfect balance where the flavors really stood out. The service was welcoming, friendly, and warm. I enjoyed supporting a small business, and they truly appreciated our visit. I will definitely be coming back soon.

From the moment Rick and I stepped into Goody's Restaurant, we knew we were in for something truly special. At the entrance, we were warmly greeted by none other than the owner, Mr. Goody himself. His gracious welcome and genuine enthusiasm instantly made us feel like honored guests. His friendly demeanor and passion for his craft set the perfect tone for what turned out to be an unforgettable culinary journey.

The food? Simply phenomenal! Each dish was a testament to masterful cooking and vibrant flavors. The perfectly seasoned jerk chicken was tender and bursting with bold, spicy goodness, while the melt-in-your-mouth salmon was cooked to absolute perfection. The accompanying medley of fresh vegetables, including crisp, flavorful cabbage, added a delightful balance to our meal.

And then there was the Rasta pasta—the undisputed star of the show. Creamy, indulgent, and infused with bold Caribbean spices, every bite of this dish was a harmonious blend of comfort and sophistication. It was the kind of dish that stays with you long after the last bite.

This place has been a neighborhood staple for the last 30 years. The quality of all the Caribbean food is delicious. Inside has no seating but new outdoor screened in room which is great to sit and est in the Spring, summer and fall. Thanks, Goodys, for serving delicious Caribbean food yo the Rockaway community.

Stay far away from this place! One bite, and you'll be addicted!! The BBQ chicken is phenomenal. The rice is other worldly. The jerk chicken will make you want to smack a midget. The crew inside, absolutely beautiful people. You'd be hard pressed to find kinder people
