The food is amazing. This place is an institution. They’ve been feeding hundreds of thousands of people over the years and they never ever miss a mark. Get anything and everything. They’re not playing when they say “it’s all good” at Goody’s. It really is ALL GOOD

I ordered small oxtails jerk chicken, fried dumplings fish . The oxtails were tasteless and total waste of money, they had thick fat on them so I was hesitant about ordering but I did, the rice and peas were overcooked and old , the cabbage and carrots were also tasteless, no seasonings were used at all, the Red snapper was old and dry and over priced the onions were dried out also , however the staff was very pleasant and professional , The love for cooking has definitely gone , it’s sad because people want to make money but they forget the love for cooking. The only food was good is the fried dumplings, light and very tasty.

Idk what happened i used to get this same order like at least twice a week but with me having had moved south when i do get to come up to visit family i look forward to getting me some goodies i mean theres still all the same people in there working from 15 years ago so with that being said i dont understand why i brought home over $60 of inedible food.. the chicken sat in that warmer all day to the point that its was like if i was peeling leather and then everything else tasted exactly the same, the mac and cheese, steamed veg and even the sweet plantains tasted just like all my other sides im extremely disappointed with this visit especially bc I was bragging to a friend that traveled with me how you guys were the best and that visit had me looking like i aint ever have taste buds

I was referred to this restaurant by a co worker and folks that live in the neighborhood but I was warned about the nasty attitude of the female owner and she definitely lived up to her reputation on my first visit.
So, food was great but first impression count . Nothing is worse than great food served with hostility. Really sad it’s the only Caribbean spot in the neighborhood and I can’t support it.

My girlfriend and I stopped by Goody’s BBQ in Far Rockaway for lunch after hearing great things about their Jamaican food. We ordered beef patties, stewed chicken, Rasta Pasta, and rice and beans, along with a pineapple ginger and a ginger soda. Everything was delicious, and the chicken was so tender it fell right off the bone.

Some people mention the food is not spicy enough, but for me it was the perfect balance where the flavors really stood out. The service was welcoming, friendly, and warm. I enjoyed supporting a small business, and they truly appreciated our visit. I will definitely be coming back soon.
