Among my favorite Astoria institutions.

Astoria Beer and Cheese falls short with a 2-star rating due to its steep prices and subpar customer service, which lacks a client-oriented approach. The corkage fee policy, applicable even for on-premises purchases of cans or bottles, is absurd. Additionally, the pricing of New York-made beer is exorbitant, inclusive of sales tax, tip, and an unjustifiable extra charge of three dollars. Overall, the service is disappointing.

A great selection of beers, cheeses, and hams! There is an entire aisle for local and international beers and ales. My boyfriend and I went here for a date, and we thought this was a great place to sample beers and cheeses. The sampler gets you a pils, stout, cider, and IPA, all of which we thoroughly enjoyed (for me, the stout especially!) I would certainly come back again. Also, there are events on Tuesday and Thursday nights.

great place and super nice staff! we had the 4-beer and 4-cheese pairing plate and the pairings that were chosen were delicious, and there’s a great amount of outdoor space. the patio is nicely decorated and we will definitely be back!!

Great place to grab a beer to go out sit down for a drink and snack. Great sour beer and a nice atmosphere. Live music on Sunday afternoon as well.

Popped in here while I was visiting, and loved it. The staff is friendly without being overbearing, and they have a great selection of taps. It was too rainy to sit on the back patio, but I’ll be back!!

I attended a pint painting with instructor Justin. He made it easy to follow along while we each painted a starry night on our pints. Had me feeling like Van Gogh! The hard pumpkin cider was amazing and I highly recommend it!

I would give them 6 stars if I could. Always great beer. If you have questions, they have a giant book of beer info and can talk about it. The cheese plates and the beer and cheese combo platters are curated and really fun. Love the seasonal sandwiches too. Calm atmosphere but a lot of fun to sit at the bar and talk to people. They have trivia Tuesdays and Songwriter Sundays. Super queer friendly which is a big plus. Indoor and outdoor seating.

This is the spot. The cheese pairings are great, the food is yummy, and there's new beer every time. Their selection of beer to make a custom pack is actually great as well. Also learned recently that their pack-and-take-home cheese is amazing and very fairly priced as well. Staff is always friendly. A great weekend hangout.

Bier and cheese is an Astoria gem. The variety of cheese and cured meats is plentiful and wonderful for and evening in or you can sit and enjoy a casual night out with friends.

This place knows what they are doing, they are kind knowledge fueled and so patient and friendly! If you are looking for a around the corner chill spot this is it! The back yard is open and calming and the inside is filled with all sorts of beer, wine and cheese + goodies.

Very good German style beers and drafts. Overall nothing to sneeze at. Wish they had Tannenzapfler Rothaeuser tho. Add it tot he list!
