Bahari Estiorio refuses service dogs for any patrons other than seeing assist dogs. We were rudely (and illegally) turned away with our hearing assist dog, even after showing a certified letter from our audiologist verifying that our dog is indeed a hearing assist dog. I’m assuming they would also turn them away for dogs who predict seizures, etc. This is illegal and discriminatory against people with physical needs requiring a service dog for special assistance.

The fresh fish was amazing. The shrimp with garlic was exceptional. I would avoid the sliced lamb with gravy. The Moussaka was OK. I have had much better and am not a Greek food connoisseur.

Came here with a few Greek friends, which was really helpful, as they knew the menu, and ordered flawlessly. The service was decent - helpful without being intrusive. The octopus, while well seasoned, was a bit overcooked; but the calamari was made well.

Went there for dinner with my boyfriend. We were seated at around 6:45pm. Then we were completely ignored for 40 minutes. No one came over to our table to ask our order or even offer drinks. We saw multiple tables come in and get waited on. Spoke to the hostess on the way out and told her we waited 40 minutes without being attended to and she said “oh ok.”

I was really craving fresh seafood that was cooked healthy and after researching I stumbled on to this little place in Astoria! BEST Greek food in NYC. Skip the other places all together and set your sights here. Fresh fish, great vegetables, good Greek wine + service that feels like family. Very attentive staff! The wait can seem overwhelming but it goes by fast. The only thing I cringed at was where the food sits and waits for the waiter to pick up. Too many people walk by it in the entry way so it kinda made me nervous about it being exposed! Other than that great food!
