today 5/18/2025, I got there for the jazz band but I could enjoy because all the kids runing around throwing rocks and the parents just stand there and dont do nothing. most of the kids are not supervise I understand that everyone wants to relax. but we all do too.

I love the idea of the beer hall, and the food and service are tons better under the new management. That said, the music is waaaaay too loud. I want to be able to sit in the sun and talk with my friends all day, not scream at each other over a blasting speaker.

Great hangout spot in Astoria - can’t beat the atmosphere. Beer selection is nice, and there’s several places to sit down and eat or drink.
I do feel like their food has gotten *worse* over the years, though. In particular, the veggie burger they have is subpar and I don’t think I’ll be ordering it anymore. It doesn’t hold well, plus it’s served with a single, thick slice of red onion, tomato, and mushroom - this means that a few bites in and the burger completely falls apart. The restaurant used to serve the infinitely-better Beyond/Impossible burger and it’s sad that they don’t have it anymore, or have anything more than a *single* vegetarian option.
Kid-friendliness: I see lots of kids there earlier in the day. It’s a loud place, so kids being loud doesn’t matter.
