This place has been pioneer of authentic Bengali food for so long. The Roast Khichuri has to be the best in NYC. We recently had a iftar with a decent amount people in our group here. The service I received was above and beyond. The very new server and the very old servers were always attentive. Sometimes it gets hectic at busy hours but that’s how food industry works.

Huge variety and selection of food, everything is made with great quality and taste. Their only competition is all the way in Jackson Hts. Bangladeshi flavors are very present in their food. Becoming a regular after moving to Astoria!

Boishakhi Restaurant in NYC Astoria offers delicious food with vibrant flavors of Bangladeshi cuisine. While the food quality is commendable, the service could use improvement in terms of speed and attentiveness. The chefs take pride in preparing dishes with fresh ingredients. With a focus on enhancing service, Boishakhi has the potential to become an exceptional dining establishment for those seeking authentic Bangladeshi cuisine in Astoria, NYC.

I almost don't want to write this review for fear that fame and too much attention will ruin this little gem!I was in the area for an appointment and just happened to stumble on this place because the CitiBike station by the train wasn't working and I needed to dock the bike.So I took advantage of the opportunity to check out the area, and I'm a foodie, so when I saw the energy and love pouring out from this little restaurant, from both employees and customers alike, I had to try!I had a target dinner spot I was walking to, but I had to try something!! So I got one of the smaller items, a chicken shish kebab. I've tried the chicken shish kebab from nearby Aladdin and Hello! Bangladeshi Restaurant as well, can't touch Boishakhi! Not their chicken shish kebab anyways. This place is really good, food looks really fresh, like high turn over and it doesn't sit! Crowded, but totally worth waiting in line for. I'll definitely stop in to try more dishes the next time I'm in this area! And it only made it even better that both the staff and customers were very friendly!!

Introduced a friend to bengali cuisine and it was perfect. Kind and caring staff, perfectly flavorful bhortas, daals, and sobji. Great and filling for the price. The egg chop is unlike anything I’ve had at home.

We took a long drive from NJ to try out some native Bengali food at this restaurant, specially since they made Kacchi (goat) biryani on Saturday. Upon arrival, the first impression is really great, as there are sooo many dishes on display, easily more than 50 items, in different colors and textures. I was pretty mesmerized to see the whole range of items. We ordered a variety of items, chicken lollipop, chicken roast, beef resala, kacchi biryani, chicken biryani, halim and kababs. After the order they heat up the items and bring them to the table. Sadly I wasn’t impressed with any of the items. Seemed to me the authentic taste wasn’t there, items were made to tone down the spice and flavor of the dishes. Kacchi was also a lot spicy than we expected. All the meat, specially the beef, was mostly dry and hard to chew. But I Iiked the rice in biryanis. Halim was very chunky, I was expecting ingredients to be well mixed and a smoother curry. The first floor tables are decent but the tables and booth in the basement are not in their best shape. The basement area needs some patch up and cleaning to make it more appealing to guests.Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian dishes like bhorta, daal, and other available

Very delicious Bengali food, our first time trying this cuisine. Price is a little expensive, and they do charge a service fee tax on the bill. You can eat downstairs, and there is decent seating.
