Cakes by Nerwan is amazing! They made a custom cake for my husband’s 50th birthday, and it was absolute perfection. He wanted a Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre cake (yes, really!), and after I sent a few examples, they said they could do it — and they nailed it. The design was spot on, and all of our Shakespeare friends instantly recognized it and thought it was incredible. It ended up being the perfect centerpiece and talking point for the whole party.

And not only did it look amazing, it tasted just as good — rich chocolate cake with the perfect buttercream frosting. Delicious from start to finish. Thank you, Cakes by Nerwan, for making his birthday so special!

Disappointing and Unreliable Service

This business provides terrible service. I contacted them two weeks in advance and followed up with an in-store visit to request a quote for a custom cake. I was instructed to submit a request solely through their online form and was assured that only one week's notice was necessary for my event.

I submitted the online request immediately. After **two full days of silence**, I called to inquire about the delay. Instead of a professional response, I received a text message minutes later stating they were **fully booked** for custom cakes next week and suggested I order cupcakes.

To be clear, this was for a party of **50 guests**. Their failure to communicate for 48 hours, only to then abruptly cancel the possibility of a custom order, demonstrates a shameful lack of professionalism. I will never patronize this establishment or rely on them for future events.

Always passed by this beautiful bakery and never stopped in. I wanted to try a few things, and with summer ending, I had to try the guava tres leches, and then grabbed a Samoa cupcake. I LOVED the guava tres leches, it came in a super cute pink tin. The Samoa cupcake was also very too, will be back to try more things. Friendly service and super cute bakery!

All the reviews about Nerwan were outstanding - I ordered a birthday cake for my son & had it delivered. The communication was excellent from the order to delivery. And, my son raved about the cake - absolutely delicious. I’ll be sure to stop in the next time I’m in Astoria.

Ordered a wedding cake and 75 cake jars for my 50 guest wedding from Cakes by Nerwan. After trying several cupcakes and jars, we placed the online order without any trouble. All questions were answered via email and text. The cake and jars arrived exactly as we ordered and on time to the venue. Cake was delicious and all the guest received a jar of their choosing.

Then sprinkle cake is AMAZING! I bring it to every gathering. Today I had one delivered for a friend’s birthday and they loved it. Ordering online and having it delivered was also super easy and the delivery company was very responsive when I had to adjust the delivery instructions. They let me know when the cake was out for delivery and when it was delivered. It was a seamless process. If you haven’t tried Cakes by Nerwan’s Sprinkle Cake, you should! It is the most delicious cake I’ve ever had!
