Their coffee is by far the very best in the neighborhood. It's delicious and always fresh. The girls that work there are sweet, one of them knows my order and is working on it by the time I enter.
I've also gotten some cakes and cookies from there that I would say are delicious. They tasted fresh and flavorful, a good choice for my mom's birthday.
I do have to say: their signage is a bit much. Nobody needs all that sarcasm and attitude. Please just make a simple sign that says what you will/will not do and keep it brief. We don't need to be patronized or insulted, just tell us if there's an extra charge for a box or bag, if you will or won't give us something, it's all good - your business your terms, but the sign with the whole history lesson about what gasoline cost in the past is more than anybody needs.
I went to get a cake for my daughter. Very fresh, reasonably priced, polite service.
Thank you!
It’s like stepping into a time capsule. We got a half pound of assorted butter cookies and they were great!
Baked goods are meh and owner is extremely unpleasant
I paid $7.50(!!!) for a piece of Apple strudel, that was throughly disappointing. It tasted like it had been made several days ago… too many good pastry shops in Astoria to come back to this one.
Horrible costumer service!! i always order from them on uber eats and they never ever follow any instructions! I asked them to put the order in a plastic bag, since the uber drivers drop the food on the floor, and they never put it in a plastic bag with a box!! I ordered a bunch of pastries and they all arrived sweaty and melted and they had no box and no plastic bag! They were simply put inside of a PAPER BAG!! And nothing protecting between the paper bag and the items. Which then the uber drivers always drop the food on the floor and knowing that there is nothing protecting the food but only a thin paper layer is not okay!
Pastry dough was dense and not flaky-seemed old. Given the wrong order and when told made no effort to remedy.
Omg stay away from this place I have spend 14 dollars down the trash everything looked good until I have got home and I tried them the pastries and mini fruit tarts. They were old and the custard sour and 🤮 nasty.
The rudest people. How they stay in business is beyond me. The inside of the store is run down and in desperate need of a cleaning. Seriously I will never walk back in there ever again!!
I'm probably a little bias. I have been going to this bakery since I could walk and I'm now in my...um...let's just say my daughter is a 4th generation going to La Guli's for the Spumoni Ice. Note: It's not the 3 flavored Spumoni commonly known. It's not made anywhere else that I know of. I live in Brooklyn now and we have some amazing bakeries here too. But this review is about La Gulis. We are in Astoria visiting family often and never miss a visit for traditionally made cookies and pastries and I urge people to try the Spumoni Ice before summers end.

Unfortunately, I do not recommend this cake shop. The cream was so terrible that it was nauseating.
Solid cannoli, but overpriced. $7.50 for a regular cannoli. $2.75 for a mini.
Every time I come to one of the bakeries in Astoria, Queens. I really love the mini strawberry cheesecake and mini cannolis, they are out of this world. It's been around since 1937 for over 85 years back in Astoria, Queens. Best bakery with the best pastries ever on Ditmars Boulevard. Thank you La Guli!
I tried 3x
I have a doctor in Astoria
Stale rainbows and everything else I’ve tried stale and old
I’m amazed that they’re still around
Pleasant workers but my gosh
Selling 1-3 day old products?
You should be ashamed and out of business
Wish I could post this with 0 stars
Stick to the Italian pastries. I usually enjoy this bakery but today I got a hamentashen. I know, it's not Italian, but they make them for Purim. Anyway, it was a hamentashen in shape only. It was made with flaky, yellow, Italian cookie dough.
