The restaurant is definitely a great option for people who really love fish the dishes are fresh and the presentation is nice.
For me personally, the taste was a little too “fishy.” I felt like some plates were missing flavor or seasoning, and the sides could use improvement because they didn’t really complement the fish. It wasn’t bad, just not balanced.
Overall, it was an okay experience. If you’re a big seafood lover, you might enjoy it more than I did. The quality of the fish is there, but I think they could work a bit more on flavor and the side dishes.

The most delicious seafood in new york
So I went here last week with my wife and my daughter. I must say they had a really big selection of seafood all types of fish, different types of shrimp. The place was super clean to be honest. The staff was really nice. The vibes were chill. Actually makes you feel like you’re in a restaurant in Europe.
I recently tried this Greek Algerian seafood restaurant right next to my apartment, and I’m so glad I did. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the staff is genuinely friendly and attentive. But the highlight for me was definitely the food — especially the branzino. It was perfectly cooked, seasoned just right, and had such a fresh, delicate flavor. Honestly, one of the best I’ve had. The portions were generous without feeling heavy, and everything tasted incredibly fresh. It’s quickly become one of my favorite spots in the neighborhood. Highly recommend, especially if you’re a seafood lover.

Astoria has many options for pick your own seafood places, so I was curious when I saw this newer one pop up. We got the octopus, scallops, lobster tails, shrimp, two sides, and asked for all the seafood to be grilled.
The shrimp was definitely the best thing out of the bunch. The rest was not bad, but cooking was definitely a bit inconsistent. The octopus and scallops could've used more grilling, but the lobsters were too burnt in some places which made it hard to chew.
Service was nice and quick. Total came out to around $150 with two sodas.

First of all, it's a great restaurant that doesn't serve alcohol. The small but very clean atmosphere allows me to see and choose my seafood, and I can even customize the cooking method, which is satisfying. The food tastes two thumbs up. It's not greasy at all, and the light flavors are balanced with a variety of seasonings to create a fantastic flavor. The garlic butter mussels and sautéed swordfish is phenomenon. Grilled calamari, clams linguine pasta, grilled asparagus, and lemon potatoes were all excellent. Staff is friendly and attentive. I'd love to visit again, and I'd recommend this place.

You pick your seafood by the pound and then choose how you want it cooked: grilled, seared, or fried. Food was tasty. Prices reasonable.

Le Petit Pêcheur – A Hidden Gem in Astoria Worth the Voyage
What an absolute treasure this Algerian family-owned restaurant is! From the moment you walk in, you can feel the warmth of genuine hospitality and the pride they take in every dish.
We feasted like royalty on a whole grilled snapper—beautifully seasoned, perfectly charred, and large enough to feed four of us comfortably. The broiled swordfish was equally outstanding—succulent, flaky, and kissed with just the right amount of smoke.
The linguini with shrimp and clams in a red sauce was fantastic—rich, aromatic, and bursting with flavor. And the Calamari Provençale? Hands down the best calamari we’ve ever eaten—tender, flavorful, and absolutely addictive. Even the octopus, often tricky to master, was melt-in-your-mouth tender and grilled to perfection.
Beyond the incredible food, the service was as lovely as the meal itself—warm, attentive, and effortlessly gracious.
Le Petit Pêcheur offers extraordinary quality and value in a relaxed, easygoing atmosphere. A true culinary gem where Mediterranean soul meets New York charm.
This is the kind of restaurant you want to tell everyone about—and also selfishly keep to yourself.
