The best coffee in all of nyc & the best, most welcoming staff. They just starting selling masa madre pastries in the morning. Dangerously good. 10/10

The service is cold and dismissive and the coffee itself is horrible. Cant believe they roast on sight- they should simply use one of the amazing New York roasters out here who knows what they are doing. $7 wasted...

Wasn't really feeling it. Lots of one-person laptop people taking up all the two-tops on a busy sunday. Wasn't really impressed with my drink or either of my baked goods. Service was efficient and the decor was nice, though. Might try again if i happen to walk by and it isn't busy but won't go out of my way again.
Mighty Oak is the kind of neighborhood coffee shop that earns its place in your routine. I stop by almost every morning, and they finally remember my order, which makes the day start a little better. The staff are kind, even when rushed and always provide a wonderful experience.
I wake up thinking about my first sip of coffee.
The coffee itself is exceptional. Their wood roasted beans have this deep, smooth flavor that’s hard to describe but easy to crave. I buy their beans to use at home, both for drip and espresso, because once you’ve had Mighty Oak, other coffee starts to taste flat. Even though I find myself there nearly every morning, it’s also comforting to know we have mighty oak at home, in case craving strikes.
The autumn spiced latte is my go-to sweet treat. A seasonal delight, balanced, not too sweet, with just enough warmth to feel cozy without trying too hard. The to-go window is another favorite touch, making it the perfect destination for while I’m walking with my dog.
Inside, it’s small and inviting, the kind of place that smells like roasted beans and wood, with quiet music and regulars who nod hello. It feels personal without being performative. Mighty Oak is proof that good coffee and good people can make a place feel like home.

Speaking as someone who worked in other neighborhood cafes, Mighty Oak has no doubt the best espresso and general coffee around. I particularly love that all the utensils, cups and straws included are compostable and how warm the interior of the shop is (and that the staff tends to mask!). Although the other day I brought some beans and had the barista grind them for me only to have them end up a bit too coarse. I hope this can be remedied some way.
Its cozy place, warm coffee and excellent service

Tell your staff to leave the attitude outside the business, and focus on making good coffee, and if he needs also needs a coffee to behave more professional he can probably have one for free
And he can mumble bad things but he was heard

Mighty Oak is such a gem!!! the moment you walk in, you instantly feel the charm of a small roaster’s café that’s both cute and effortlessly hip. It has that cozy, modern vibe that makes you want to linger with a book or catch up with a friend over a perfectly brewed cup. The design details and warm atmosphere really give it an uptown Astoria feel!! stylish yet approachable, neighborhood-driven yet elevated. The coffee is smooth, rich, and clearly roasted with care, and the whole space has a character that feels unique and special. It’s one of those spots that makes you fall in love with the local café scene all over again

Vegan pastries were dry and tasteless. Drip coffee was overly acidic and tasted soapy

The male barista working on Monday afternoon, 8/25/2025 was extremely disrespectful. I ordered two coffees, yet only one was made and I had to return to the counter to confirm for the second. When the first drink was finished, the barista simply shouted “cappuccino” across the café rather than handing it to me directly despite me being close by. As I was leaving, he remarked “Sir, your cups..” to which I jokingly replied that since I had already paid, picked up my own drink, and left a tip, something should be on the house. His response—“It’s common courtesy to pick up after yourself, nobody asked you to tip me”—was unprofessional, dismissive, and inappropriate. Did he want me to clean the table too and do his job for him? This conduct reflects a lack of basic courtesy and professionalism, and I urge management to address it promptly.
