What an incredible dinner experience. Our server Gabby was such a special part of our visit to Ovelia. She was so knowledgeable on the menu & recommended the best dishes! We shared mussels, halloumi fries, & the thinly cut lamb chops (which were SO delicious.) I am not from the US and lamb is usually smelly here, but this lamb reminded me of home! The Grexican is a really yummy mezcal cocktail to go with your meal. Thank you Gabby for making our experience so wonderful & putting together a wonderful selection of dishes for us. Cant wait to come back and try other things on the menu!

First impression walking in - the place felt warm, modern, and inviting. Great decor, subtle with special touches showing appreciation for the traditional Greek taverna. My favorite pieces of decor were the wood chair backs with handpainted Greek sayings on them. The service was top notch. I wish I caught our server's name... she was polite, attentive, social but not intrusive, and very patient. I was catching up with a friend I haven't seen for over a year and an hour must have passed before we even looked at the menu. For the food - We started with the feta cubes coated in sesame seeds and drizzled in honey - absolute perfection. The zucchini spiral fries were light but crispy and the dipping sauce is addicting. The chicken kontosouvli was full of flavor, but the most pleasant surprise was the dako salad. I was so impressed that they used mizithra instead of the typical feta. I've always said if I had to pick a last meal for whatever reason, it would be dako and sfakian pita (if you know, you know.). I would come here again just for the dako - that's how good it was. The drinks were just as amazing - kudos to the bartender. We went with “The Sage” for me - because I'm Cretan and can't pass up “Malotira” anything... also known as tsai tou vounou (tea of the mountain) and my girlfriend went with a mastiha infused cocktail which was one of her favorite flavors from the island of Chios. Everything about this place hit the mark: ambiance, service, food, and drinks. Can't wait to go back. You won't be disappointed!

Ovelia is one of the absolute best places to eat in Astoria. The owners are passionate about what they do and it shows: The menu is creative, unique and always delicious. Love the feta cubes, the famous red sangria and the Monastoraki Bifteki. This has been one of our favorite places to eat in Astoria for years.

Fun place, interesting twists on traditional Greek food, in a good way. Food was very good. We had several appetizers (meze) and we all agreed the sesame and honey feta cubes were fantastic. The service was superb and Penelope, our server, was wonderful. Bravo! The only thing I can quibble about was two of the signature cocktails that, while excellent, had so much pebbled ice that there was less liquid than we would have liked. We would definitely go back. Epharisto!

They raised their prices for Aug 15 holiday. $42 for a grilled octopus appetizer in Astoria. It's wild.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We had a fantastic dining experience at Ovelia! The food was absolutely phenomenal—don't miss the grilled octopus (perfectly tender and flavorful) and the halloumi, which was crisp on the outside and melty inside. Our server, Gabriela, was warm, attentive, and made us feel truly welcome. If you're craving authentic and well-executed Greek cuisine in a relaxed, lively setting, Ovelia delivers on all fronts. Highly recommend!

This was my first time there and was very pleased. The food was amazing and the presentation was over the top for the lamb sandwich which was so good. My only complaint would be the delay of the bottomless refills. But overall a time was had and I'm looking forward to coming back.
