Snowdonia is so cool! It's become my local for great food and friendly staff. Others who are there are quite welcoming and I enjoy the atmosphere overall. They recently posted a $10 food and beer weekday happy hour menu which I'm excited about. Check it out you won't be

Been here before and really solid food and service. That was about 2 years ago though. Went tonight and service was subpar to say nicely. Took about an hour to get our food which was fish and chips, with dragon wings and poutine. Majority of it being fried food and not even close to full bar. Gentleman bartender was asked about the dragon wings(different name they gave for chicken wings) and he was a bit condescending stating it wasnt a mystery meat just their name for it. Drinks took a minute to come to us and I was only brought a refill without asking but not my wife. Really hoping this was a one off tonight. Will go back to retry though. The first time was a great experience but this last trip was very disappointing.

The kitchen is a bit slow for how crowded the place was. The fish and chips were not fresh I'm sorry to tell you. We got horrible diarrhea after this meal. Cool place maybe just for drinks.

As good as it gets in Astoria. Service is solid and the food is interesting. Read a book or two in the bathroom

I have liked everything I have tried here, from the food to the drinks to the movies. This place has a fun local vibe, with lively cross bar chatter and discussion. Introverts, fear not! There is plenty of room to sit solo, or just keep to yourself at the bar, it's really up to you. The bartender I've had both times here is great, she picks great films to show on the TVs above the bar, makes well crafted cocktails, and pours the beer to the rim of the glass. This is not really a spot you can watch a sports event, but more likely a cult classic deep cut black and white 35mm directors cut.The food is also noteworthy. The fish and chips was just as i like, crispy fish and crispy crisps. The loaded tots, man and cheese, steak frites special, all hit the spot. I hear the roasted chicken is also divine. Will be back to this spot, you should check it out, too.

955 Welsh-themed gastropub with a twist. Snowdonia is a Welsh-themed gastropub on the Astoria/LIC border. We decided to visit it back in May. At that time, the opening hours were confusing, and one of the waitpersons said their hours had changed from late afternoon to early afternoon.! The first time we arrived was May 6, but Snowdonia had been closed off for an event until late afternoon, so we were turned away. Instead, we headed over to the Arepas Lady. The following week, we returned and waited until approximately 2 p.m. Snowdonia had kept their late weekend opening times on the website. Still, we found out they were serving food in the early afternoon. Going inside, Snowdonia is not the largest of gastropubs in the area. Though they have outside dining and are pet-friendly, we headed to the main dining area. I had spent many a summer in Wales and remember vividly the sheep on the moors. Now, what to order? My partner had never eaten rarebit before, and I had never eaten it since high school. I had forgotten entirely about the sandwich. My partner ordered the shepherd's pie as well, and I ordered the St David's Bryger. It is unlike any American burger you have eaten before. It was dryer with a little less flavor. the way I remember my burgers in the UK to taste. That brought back a lot of memories. And the tater tots, which I forgot to mention, were pretty good too.

Welsh gastropub with all the drinks and nibblies one might hope for. I brought my date here for a couple of pints and some snacks. The mac and cheese was as good as everyone says. I loved that the cheese sauce was thick and rich, easy to scoop up with each bite. The sausage and peppers were tasty and added great texture. We paired this with the loaded tots, also super yummy. Service was good and the prices can't be argued with.

Quaint little diner in astoria. This business seems to be women owned, which I always like to support. We came for dinner and ordered the Welsh sampler, pickled onion rings, and mac and cheese. The welsh sampler was very interesting, not really my favorite but it had a lot of fun flavors that I enjoyed trying. The bread treat it comes i'm with is also SO cheesy and incredible. The pickled onion rings were mediocre, I felt like it was a little over battered and you couldn't really taste the pickle, but otherwise was very standard. I thought the mac and cheese was absolutely divine, and the addition of the jalapeños really rounded the dish out and gave it the kick that it needed. When we went, the place was pretty empty but I felt like the waitress/bartender was not as attentive to our table as I wished and the food took a bit to get out to us but overall it was a good experience.

We've been to Snowdonia almost 10 years ago when my husband and I started dating. We wanted to go back for his birthday because we obviously haven't been in a very long time and we loved it all over again! The food is good and quick, the staff is great. Looking forward to go back (before the next decade) and try more things on the menu!

Just the best. From the vegetarian bangers and mash to the awesome movies on the screen, this is a real neighborhood gem.

I really really want to love this place because the people are great and the location is perfect! But the only negative thing holding me back is the cold food. I've been here a total of four times because, again, I really want to love it and keep thinking maybe they just had an off day/night but unfortunately we just keep getting cold food. I'll come here for anything else tho - drinks, vibe, people, location.

Snowdonia is our go-to date night dinner spot in Astoria. The food is incredible, the service is friendly and fast, the drinks are delicious, and the atmosphere is welcoming and relaxed. The vegetarian shepherds pie is so warm and filling, but our fav is definitely the mac n cheese! Try everything on the menu if you can!!

One of my favorite local bars.... unfortunately not within walking distance of my house but well worth the effort. They have what you want, whether it's a seasonal draft or a seasonal cocktail or their famous burger! Not super pricey (but not cheap) and they have really really good food. Though its a "bar menu", it certainly is cooked with care and as good quality as any of the neighboring restaurants; which, as an Astorian, is certainly saying a lot!
