I would first like to start out by saying I really had high hopes for this place. I went for brunch with my girlfriends, and I did notice it was busy. My first thought was that this place must be very good. When ordering our food, it took forever for the waiter to take our food order. After maybe close to 2 hours, we got our food and let me stress that fact that the table next to us got their way after us, and they got their food first. After finally getting our food, it was ice cold. The food plating was nice, that's all I can say about it. And again, yes, it took forever to pay our bill. I had to grab the waiters attention to pay it. After observing the place when leaving, I noticed that their was only 1 waiter for the whole restaurant on a busy saturday brunch. Terrible mistake for the manager who decided not to give him help. Now, because of that mistake, he lost customers. Will not be returning.

Most miserable brunch in years. So deafening loud it was stupid. Made me nauseated. Fried chicken was rubbery and the sausage gravy had no taste. Better breakfast in a cheap diner. Not worth fighting for a parking spot!

Ordered some pasta. After 1.5 hours of no delivery we called the restaurant who said to call them back after 5 minutes while they get in touch with the delivery driver. They never picked up any of my follow up calls or offered an explanation why the food wasn't delivered. Never offered a refund or an apology, just hoped the problem would go away. If you can't offer consistent delivery don't offer delivery.

Came for brunch at 11:30 and was almost the first ones seated. By noon, the restaurant was all filled. I had chicken and waffles, which came with a drink of choice so I chose The Shady Royale. Chicken and waffle was pretty good, it was very sizable, I don't think I finished the whole thing.

Ordered brunch weekend delivery, they forgot the syrup for the French toast and pancakes, I called them and a man said they would send some over shortly. Never heard back from them. I called the next day and spoke to a woman, she said she would find out and call back, never did

I was excited to check this place out and their delicious brunch (as per some reviews on here). However, my experience was OK. Food was 8/10, mainly because the home potatoes were cold, flavorless and soggy. I also order a Bloody Mary and didn’t like it. The service was decent, but nobody really checked on me while I was there.

This used to be the best brunch in Astoria but every time I’ve gone recently it’s been a mess. Most recently one of our entrees never came—we asked four times and they just never brought the food. The previous time I ordered a drink that never came, and after asking about it three times over an hour the waitress said “Oh we ran out, that’s why I never brought it.” ?? The food is still good but that doesn’t matter if it never comes lol. Both times wait service forgot about us and we had to wait forever or flag someone down to order/pay. Not worth the terrible service and after years of coming here we’re looking elsewhere.
Please do not even waste your time, money or hunger on this place, people had so many great reviews, and yet it was the opposite of my expectations. Food was of poor quality, I had the steak tacos and it was greasy and unflavorful, the bacon was overcooked and looked old, my friend had the chicken and waffles, the chicken was so over cooked, it looked like it was cooked in old oil they did not change, the waffle was dull and hard, the orange juice was Minute Maid 😒, like come on. The service was a young kid who lacked people and customers service skills, he could barely take the order, not to mention their espresso machine was down, with coffee being such a big requested item, you think they would have that fixed for the weekend crowd, I was highly disappointed, my stomach was hurting a few hours after eating from there, I will not be returning. Came here for brunch on Saturday November 16 at around 11:50am. Place was not packed at the time. We waited for 25 minutes and the server never came. We asked the hostess about our server she said they would be right with us. We waited a few more and realized the server was taking the order of a party who had just arrived. Truly dissapointed. Can’t rate the food because we never got served 💀

My first review in a restaurant, tbh terrible service , the waiter pretty much throw us out , he brought the check while my party was still having mimosas , I waited 15 for my cappuccino , I believe they don’t have an Expresso machine , it was broken that day , even tho service was the worst in my life I left the waiter 20 percent tip , he didn’t ask how we were doing. The other waiter the girl was the best she got my coffee , sugar and ketchup , he pretty much was annoy for I don’t even know what reason , anyways. Food was ok but service the worst ….funny thing I heard there was unlimited mimosas , we got one at the end before leaving we didn’t even know , and we got charge for our second mimosas which there is no problem , but bringing us the check to get out when we still got the food in front of us . I will never return. I just realized this was a draft after couple of years.

I don't normally review restaurants but I have to speak out. Our waitress Bahar straight out the gate treated my friends and I in such a hostile manner I was completely caught off guard.this was my first time at the shady lady, I drove an hour to get there to say goodbye to my friends before I move out of state. I ordered and she did not tell me French toast isn't available today so before I ordered something else I asked if there's anything else that isn't available. She says "I ALREADY TOLD YOU,the French toast". I'm so sorry I just wanted to know if there's anything else so I don't bother looking at something that isn't available. She also snatched menus out od my friends hands.I'm not quick to say she could be racist because I have no idea but I would be curious to the experiences of other people of color.the food was fine,good presentation but she almost ruined our time. I hope whatever the waitress is upset about in her life gets resolved because no one deserves to be treated like dirt.
