came for a drink after dinner and were so happy with the vibe, service, and quality of drinks. our bartender, Jesse, was super friendly, funny, and sincere. this is a great place to visit for great drinks, lively atmosphere, and friendly

My friend who is a senior citizen. Famished, she went to order a bacon cheeseburger and french fries. The tab came out to $30! Mind you, she did not order a drink. The HAMBURGER was $17. Please tell me it was grass fed beef. The cheese was extra and the bacon I understand. There are still natives who live here. The entire town is not gentrified. I am appalled for my friend on a fixed income. I will not eat here ever. I thank God there are still decent owners in this neighborhood. Asked for the owner and of course he's on vacation. I'm not surprised at those prices, I'm sure they're swimming in it! Yall should b ashamed!

Big fan of the Sparrow Tavern. Met up with two friends from college, one of whom I hadn't seen in 5 years. Went here because it looked classic and the beer garden next door that we had planned to meet at was closed. Two of us weren't from the area so while that was the place we found on yelp, super glad we ended up at the Sparrow.Really solid Happy Hour specials and the tavern burgers were great (we all got them).We drank Good Supply beer and I had Jack and diets.The bill came out to like 40 a head and we were there for awhile so I thought this was super reasonable.Really friendly bar staff - would 100% go back if I'm in Astoria again

Tasty drinks and food, great service. Cute and comfortable spot, with a few outside tables as well! A *small* warning to Guinness drinkers, they do not have proper Guinness glasses and I know can be disappointing.
After passing by The Sparrow Tavern for years, we finally decided to try it out. We love trying out different spots in Astoria. The food was very good and the Zelda drink special was definitely a good surprise!I def recommend the swiss chard quesadillas. I saw another table ordering it and that kind of what attracted me to try it. The burger was also delicious and the vegetarian chili special.I look forward to coming back and trying new things!PS: shoutout to the very friendly waitresses.
It's my first time here, and I always choose where I go very well, because I like to feel good and safe while I drink my favorite cocktails, Alice was charming and very sweet, I would come back a thousand times, she knows how to make you feel good

Prior to the pandemic I used to love Sparrow. They had some of the best burgers in Astoria and great beer selection......However, having returned for the first time since their reopening, the food has become overpriced mediocrity. My salad (which was $26) consisted only of lettuce and the smallest piece of dry chicken one could imagine. My girlfriend got the burger, which was fine, but it was astronomically overpriced for the portion. The tater tots were also fine. Overall we were very disappointed, the prices felt like Highway robbery for what we got (even for NY), and the food quality has drastically declined.I regretfully will have to take sparrow off of my 'go-to' list of pubs to eat at in Astoria.

Stopped in for a beer. Nice variety of drafts. Certainly nailed the tavern atmosphere. Service was quick. There were a couple gender neutral restrooms.

This bar saved my life. You know the saying: home is where the heart is, and this bar is my home. At my highest of highs, my lowest of lows, and everywhere in between, this bar has been there to lift me up on eagles wings.The staff is impeccable, the food is divine, and the drinks leave you the perfect level of hungover the next day. Nothing but love for MY bar.
