I had been there before so I took some friends today, when we were in front of the desserts and tried to order an older woman who was a very rude employee told us that we had to order and pay at the cashier, maybe she thinks she's the nagging mother but she was very disrespectful, she kept speaking in Greek and told the cashier what we wanted and that we had to pay, I told her they were to go and she put each cupcake in a little bag, I asked for a to-go bag and napkins and paid, we were at the door and the same rude woman yelling told us to go back and pay because the machine didn't process the payment, we went back, paid and asked for the receipt and she replied no, that they only send them by text, why doesn't she print the paid invoice, is that my proof of purchase? Anyway, we went out and tried the cupcakes and they were hard and the flavor was very average, different from what I remembered, so I was very frustrated and I found a new bakery around the corner and managed to save the day. I'm sorry, we won't be back. We don't accept bad treatment from anyone, especially for a meal that has deteriorated a lot. I won't recommend them again.

I visited them again today, but the service is getting worse every time. The cashier is very rude; she was only interested in tips, not service. The other employees acted indifferent to the customer. We waited over 15 minutes, and they never asked if we were eating there or taking it out. When we realized they had already served our coffee in a paper cup, it was lukewarm, and we waited longer for the rest of our order at the register. It was like they were doing us a favor, what a disaster. I don't recommend it.

Used to patronize this place, it's good although expensive. However, this business recently joined a lawsuit to block development of a bike lane on 31st St. They are willing to sacrifice the safety of their customers for profit. It's gross. So I'm not going here anymore.

Updates: the staff helping my order this time was inpatient with an unfriendly attitude.

I had a cup of flat white and koulouri. Coffee was ok, normal, but the koulouri was delicious. Crispy dough with cheese and sesame! I would give 4 but decided to give 5 cause the staff was friendly and nice.

Easily my favorite coffee shop in Astoria! Not only do they serve a fabulous Freddo Espresso, but their Bougatsa and Feta Koulouri are by far the best you’ll find without having to travel to Greece. Highly recommend either location of UP!

We loved the place! The staff was very helpful, kind and friendly. Added bonus they were all speaking Greek!!!
We got a koulouri with cheese and Nutella croissant! They were both fresh, crunchy and delicious! The outside seating space is also great! We loved the place! We will be back!

The coffee is delicious and consistent with the one that’s down the street on 23rd. The overall space is clean and seems inviting, but that’s where it stops for me.

I’ve come here on numerous occasions and just find the cashiers to be so rude and uninviting. I can see if this was a one off occasion, but this is consistently every single time I go in. The cashiers are just not friendly despite you being polite and tipping them. It is extremely uninviting when your cashier doesn’t even crack a smile or Give the decency of eye contact. Today was the final straw where I placed my order, offered a smile, a thank you and a tip, and I still got a nasty attitude given to me. However, the cashier was extremely nice to the people behind me that happened to be greek.. I truly believe you do get better service if you are of the same ethnic background since I have experience this too many times. You want customers to return and it would be nice if everybody was receiving the same service since we are all in the same neighborhood. Please do better because your coffee is fantastic, but your staff makes me not want in there.
