It is a lovely setting with nice ambiance. However, the food quality is not consistent. I had nicely cooked short rib on a flavorless brick of polenta. The Cesar broccolini appetizer was delicious. The fruit crumble had no crumble on it - was merely warm fruit.
We had a wonderful experience - I took my grandson and his girlfriend out for a holiday meal - we had a lovely server, Meg and she helped to make our experience a good one.
Six of us dined together and every one of us had an outstanding meal. The portion sizes were perfect, the food was fresh and beautifully prepared, and everything was delicious. Deb, our server, was both professional and fun. We would return in a heartbeat!
We went to the Aurora Inn for a birthday breakfast. The Inn itself is full of historyand has such a nice, inviting restaurant with a great view of the lake. We ordered a mimosa and then perused the menu. It was hard to decide what to order. I ordered the creme brulee french toast and my husband ordered the classic breakfast. The food was wonderfully presented and everything tasted delicious! Our server Reilly was very welcoming and answered all of our questions about the menu and more. We will definitely be back...this time for dinner!
This is more of a long-term review. Having eaten here for years, it's just not the same anymore. Perhaps more attention is just being given to the spa, but it just send like they didn't care about the restaurant anymore. The service is no longer acceptable. The staff can't remember to refill beverages, bring condiments, check on the tables, etc. The last time we are there for brunch there were hardly any tables, but I still had to refill my own water and go on a quest for coffee. They've also done this weird performative thing for a while where they want to know all the guest names, but I would just rather have competent service and drop the whole pretense of individualized care. They'll all why your there even though you've already written it in the note. It's weird. The food has also declined dramatically, especially for the price. Still the prettiest place to eat on this lake, but I'm done with them.

We ate here four times. Service and food was amazing. Cozy , beautiful restaurant over looking the lake. We sat in the bar area next to the fireplace which was perfect.
We had a nice dinner but the noise from the bar was a bit too loud for this seemingly quiet restaurant.
They serve a breakfast and brunch menu. The homemade blueberry ginger jam is delicious, ask for extra toast.
Always personable service and delicious seasonal options in a wonderful lake front setting. We can only imagine how much more beautiful it is in the summer.
Entrees took too long. Pumpkin soup was very bland. No salt or pepper on the table. Entrees had good flavor but the quantity provided for the short spare rib dish was very small. We appreciated the complimentary gluten free bread, though we did not like the jelly dipping sauce for the bread. Overall, it was 3 stars.

Had the eggs Benedict. Excellent. Pricy but everything is pristine and beautiful. For when you want a splurge.

Beautiful spot with some fascinating history. The restaurant has a cozy, upscale feel. The cobwebs on the lamps seemed out of place (no, they were not fall decorations). The staff practically jogging from table to table and to the kitchen made it hard to relax. The veal dish was like chewing rubber and had no seasoning. That would be fine but there is no salt or pepper on the table since we have to have faith the kitchen prepared it perfectly to our taste. The pasta dish was good as was the broccolini app. The wine list was amazing. Overall it just missed. The menu has a bit of an identity crisis and seemed fairly unimagined (I am so over brussel sprouts).
I love 1833 but the seafood special last night (cioppino) missed the mark and was not worth the $48 I spent on it. I should have stuck with an option on the regular menu that has never disappointed me. The shrimp was shockingly small and I know that you can get decent shrimp at local stores in the finger lakes and the other ingredients were not adequate. Cioppino is a hearty dish and the ingredients and portion should reflect that especially for the price I paid.

Dining room beautiful and our waiter Corbin couldn't have been better. Focaccia bread was excellent. Appetizer very slow to come out (they didn't charge us which we appreciated). It was beautifully plated and delicious. My braised short rib was wonderfully presented and delicious. My husband's strip steak and fries was plated with no garnish to color it up and was cold. They promptly reheated it but by then, I was done, so not ideal. Dessert was a chocolate pistachio bambe which again was beautifully presented but the very hard shell made it difficult to eat with dessert forks only. Out of the restaurant's control was a woman with a very loud voice who talked nonstop and was facing in our direction. Ugh... Breakfast was wonderful!!!
Beautiful restaurant and nice staff. We had one of the best meals of our life there! The home focaccia and tomato oil was amazing and each dish we ordered was so delicious!
